Oh were both going to the same place! I can't wait to start exploring Atlanta as a resident and not a tourist. I have been looking for some professional jobs downtown over the last few weeks but I find the prospect of writing to managers hilarious.

Dear Sir ...

I almost have a degree and more importantly I almost have a Visa. This does not however mean that I have permission to work and obtaining the correct documentation could take some time. Do you think there may be a position within your company available for me around February 2009 ?!?!?!

Oh dear, don't think I will be getting very far with that. I hope everyone is having a happy Monday

Bex xxx

Hi there,

We sent our package on Feb 29...they got it in March....so I guess it will be nice finding people in our same timeline...we got the return receip from Vermont and it was signed by P. Novak.

We couldnt see if they cashed the money order yet because they gave us 11 numbers and in the website they only want 10 (western union) weird....we are still waiting for NOA1 everyday in the mail.

We mailed ours in on March 13th, they received it March 20th ... now we are just waiting patiently for some sort of "touching" or action to be done on it ...

Its nice to know that there is this forum ... its helpful to have a feeling of others around that are in the same monthly boat as us ... :)

good luck to all the filers!

Hi to everybody!

Well Ive been reading your last posts dear guys and I should admit that yes! I have had on the last few days the same problem than all of you, and also my baby had it: We re getting impatient on this process!!!!! Its too heavy to miss him and dont know when will be the next time we will see each other, its frustrating for me to tolerate this time without him, and as I realized on saturday night watching a nice romantic movie, I dont want to waste too much time without creating and enjoying our own love story... Cause thats what I feel... My baby always tell me: Hey girl, dont wory, its one day closer for being together and I know he is right but even knowing it I feel some times upset and sad at the same time... :(

I work, and for that reason the most of my days are full of things to do, but I always have time for missing him and remember nice moments together... We talk every day by phone at least three times a day, that helps a lot, at least we can share nice things on our conversations. The only thing I would love is seeing his beautiful eyes again and feel his lips on mine... Ok, thats too romantic right? But thats the way I feel now... so romantic and sometimes very lonely...

But I have found out some ways to keep the ilussion and the enthusiastic point of view :)... Im going to do some nice things for my baby, and as Erin says Im trying also to write long emails expressing to him my deep feelings. I think my english level is not so bad, so I hope he can understand my sentences :innocent:

Well dear guys, I have said what Ive been feeling the last few days, thanks to all of you and perhaps some day as Tuty says all of us can enjoy a nice BBQ in USA sharing the wonderful moments we re spending living with our SO.

Kisses to all of you

I hope you all are doing well with this process. It is difficult, but actually my pregnancy has been distracting me more. We have been so excited about having our son that we are focusing on that. My fiance is coming in June so less then 2 more months! He will stay 3 months, our son will be born in July. In September we are all going to fly back to Holland and hopefully our visa is issued during that time so we wont have to be apart any longer. All the time apart is awful but I just count the days til he is here. I am hoping the NOA2 comes on time around august otherwise I think I will have a much harder time with the process.

Congrats to all you vermont filers that have gotten your NOA2 :) I almost wish I could have moved to a state that files there before sending the petition hehe.

I can understand the feelings we all share...sometimes I feel desperate. I live by myself, I come back from work and see the empty apartment...nobody expecting me, nobody to cook for...

same with me. i am lucky that i have very wonderful neighbours to visit with, and lots of friends close by, but i really dislike sitting down to eat dinner alone each night. too bad we can't eat dinner together! bring on the BBQ!

Oh guys what are we doing? We must be all mad! I know it will be so worth it in the end but geez right now it feels never ending.

Erin thanks so much for sharing your tips with us. I actually think I will start collecting some recipes. I'm not exactly Suzie homemaker by any stretch of the imagination and I know when I get there I will be calling my mum every weekend to ask her how to make this and how to do that. I hope you get to see David this weekend. I have my graduation on July 15th so it will be July 16th at the earliest when we are together next. That will be over 6 MONTHS!! Eeeek. I can't believe how shocking the employment laws and holiday entitlement is in the US. I get about 32 days a year plus flexi time here in the UK, thats quite a difference to Alan's 10 days and strict hours. I know it will fly by. Lol we will be posting here in 3 months time stressing out because we have so much to sort out and so little time to do it!!! Its our prerogative to never be happy :)

we are all mad. madly in love!

i'm no suzie homemaker either. kinda funny given that my mom was a home economics teacher :) but i'm trying.

i do hope i get to see david as well. plus, if he can visit he will be able to meet my parents for the first time. it will be overwhelming but very positive when that happens.

i can't believe you will have gone over 6 months. wow. but yes, north american vacation times and strict hours are a tad insane. i have luckily worked in non-profit and academic organizations for the last decade so i usually have 3 weeks (15 days) per year plus a 2 week break over christmas. i can handle that B)

and i think you're right. things are moving slowly now but will pick up in no time. i'm lucky that i have good friends who went through the K1 process a couple of years earlier and are on the same timeline as us. whenever i get frustrated, shawna encourages me to hang in there and tells me how amazing it is now that she is with her hubby.

we can do it!!!

We mailed ours in on March 13th, they received it March 20th ... now we are just waiting patiently for some sort of "touching" or action to be done on it ...

well, HELLO to a fellow canuck march filer! ours was received on march 19th. it will be curious to see how our timelines compare throughout the process :)

I hope you all are doing well with this process. It is difficult, but actually my pregnancy has been distracting me more. We have been so excited about having our son that we are focusing on that.

what a wonderful thing to have to focus on! :luv:

so glad that you will see him in june. that's very soon! it's almost may already! woohoo!!!

Oooooh March Filers we have everything going on here. Babies, visits, cooking lessons, surprise gifts ... Alligators - Saffyre ?!?!?!

I'm feeling a little bit better today! Hoorah! There are always going to be some days that are worse than others. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. The friends I'm making on this journey are some of the best people that have ever blessed my life.

I'm getting on with school work and trying to make plans. I've only checked USCIS like 4 times today - GET IN!!! We've been lucky today, Alan has been able to spend a little time at his desk so we have swapped some nice messages. Its the little things that make that needed difference sometimes. I've decided as soon as I get some spare time, I'm going to start running ... well walking and then maybe jogging lol. I bought a wedding dress in Feb and deliberately got a size too small, I've lost almost 20lbs already and have about 15 to go before I'm at my ideal weight. Thats a great target for me to work towards and best of all its 100% in my control. Thats the hardest thing about this process for me so it will be perfect for me to have something that I'm fully able to take charge off. Whoop!

I hope everyone is having a brilliant Tuesday, I have a feeling we'll all be getting great news over the next few weeks. :) ** Hugs **

how exciting that you get to see your guy in 3 days. that's nothing! you're so close! i hope you have a wonderful time together. i should know *fingers crossed* by tonight if david will be here this weekend or next. i can't wait to see him again.

and it is FANTASTIC to be in touch with other people who are in the same boat as we are. it makes it seem much more bearable, that's for sure. :star:

bex - i'm glad you're feeling better today. hurrah!!!

i agree that it is the little things that make all the difference. david sent a very funny photo of his son lucas to my cell phone last night. i laughed for at least 10 minutes. we got to talk this morning on the phone for a few minutes, too.

that's exciting that you have your wedding dress already. i bought my wedding dress a few weeks ago! here's a photo. i am so excited about it. i have always wanted a beautiful pale pink, vintage dress. it's all hand-beaded with beads and pearls and has beautiful lace on it. it was a steal, too! $35! i might even buy another dress since we'll have our court house wedding followed by a really big shindig with friends and family later (once we've regained some of our sanity after this process).

i agree that having something in your control, like working out, can be an excellent diversion in this process. i'm trying to exercise on a regular basis to kill off any anxious feelings i might be having. it helps quite a bit. the bonus is that the gym i belong to has a cable television on EVERY cardio machine, so i can watch television while i do my cardio. i don't have cable at home (trying to save $) so at least i can go to the gym and watch hockey or nascar... or whatever :)

Oh WOW Erin your dress is beautiful! I'm not at all a dress fan but have taken great pleasure in shopping for my wedding dress. I found a great dress at Davids Bridal and almost had Alan's mom go buy it and mail it to me i loved it so much. I decided that considering the fact i have never tried on a wedding dress before i would go and do the girly bit in a few of the stores in the city. The first dress i grabbed was a spitting image of the one i loved and when I put it on i hated it! I AM NOT VERY GOOD AT BEING A WOMAN! Lol give me jeans and a hoody any day of the week. The woman in the store kept getting all these big beautiful dresses for me to try on and I was like ... no ... no ... no ... go on then LOL. I felt like a Barbie doll and LOVED IT. Next thing I knew i had the veil and tiara on the whole nine yards.

I couldn't afford store prices so started looking into the mail order dresses from the far East. You can buy a beautiful, made to order wedding dress for under £100 including postage. I was quite conscious of not contributing to any negligent employers, I'm all about saving money but not at the expense of someone who doesn't benefit from the same protective labor laws as I do. I did quite a bit of research and found some really good companies - if anyone is interested I can pass some links along. I finally went for the dress bellow as it meant I could go and try it on before I bought it. The company work out of an industrial estate so they don't have to pay the high rents that come with a high street store and so can pass on the massive savings to us. YEY.

wp811d145d.jpg

Sorry its so huge, I cant make it any smaller.

Its a UK size 10!! I'm sure I will get into it. I'm around 128 lbs right now so I figure another 10-15 should do the job nicely (I'm only 5ft.) Will be able to get my bikini on on our honeymoon and show my new bod off too. The last time Alan saw me I was 158 so I'm hoping he is going to appreciate all my efforts, I know I definitely feel better.

Oh I'm big time procrastinating, I think Alan needs to activate the parental log on my laptop and ban VJ and FB!!

bex (and all other march filers who have to read through my chatty posts :) )

isn't my dress great! i just couldn't do a white dress... love that i get to have a 'pretty in pink' wedding day :D

i LOVE LOVE LOVE your dress. it's gorgeous! that's excellent you were able to shop around and find a company with decent work records. that's one of the reasons i like buying vintage when i can. my dress is actually from kaufmann's department store in pittsburgh. i forget the other 'fancy' name on the tag... apparently they had a speciality shop on the 11th floor which sold high-end goods.

Its a UK size 10!! I'm sure I will get into it. I'm around 128 lbs right now so I figure another 10-15 should do the job nicely (I'm only 5ft.) wow! you have done a superb job! i'm sure you've sent photos to alan but i'm positive he'll be surprised when he sees you.

i dropped from 165 to 125 recently but am back at 130 and happy with where i am. (i'm 5'6".) i feel so much better when i'm exercising and active. what types of things do you do when you exercise?
