I'm English, so that counts for me as far as immigration fraud is concerned, but then I am filing alone. We shall see.

What is that supposed to mean? I don't want to Pooh Pooh on your post, but aren't you coming off as a little "holier than thau" here?

It means that statistically, England isn't a high-fraud country. That's not to say that English

people never commit immigration fraud (I'm sure some do), just that they do it less than

other (especially third-world) nationalities.

So your saying that the UK and England are better than the rest of us?

Well, so here I am, a new applicant for removal of conditions. Check showed up as cashed on Monday and I gues it's t CSC, though no receipt yet.

It's going to be an interesting one though, because I had to apply for a waiver of joint filing requirement, since I'm no longer married to my ex, and left him because of abuse etc. So, I guess we'll see if they give me an interview or not. I mean, I'm English, so that counts for me as far as immigration fraud is concerned, but then I am filing alone. We shall see.

Either way, I'm not stressing out about it - I enclosed a LOT of evidence for the cohabitation and also the abuse, and they accepted my check. I actualy sent it to NSC, because that's where the form instructions told me to send it, but they posted it on to CSC and now I have a WAC number (unfortunately the case number is not showing up on the system yet - but then again it was handwritten on a check I saw at the bank website so I might have misread!)

How are y'all doing?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Good luck with your process. You will be fine.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Yes! LOL - just kidding. :P

I don't think Germany has a higher fraud rate than the UK - I'd say all Western European countries are about the same.

One could equally say "I'm German/Swiss/Norwegian/etc, so that counts for me as far as immigration fraud is concerned"

Aww Christ people - I'm not being 'holier than thou' at all - it's just what other members have said: some countries are investigated more than others because of their higher fraud rate, that's all. It IS an advantage coming from England, specifically because of this - USCIS investigate some countries more frequently than others, just because of the economic differences between the countries and America. Basically all that means is that I would be a lot less likely to emigrate here purely for economic reasons, because Britain's economy (just one country of a collection) is in better shape than America's. That's not putting America down, it's just true. So it wouldn't make any sense for me to come here to, say, earn more money.

No offense intended - it's just I'm going into this with that aforementioned knowledge and that means I feel a lot calmer than I might otherwise. No-one's any 'better' than anyone else, for goodness sakes (I've traveled the world, and met many wonderful people in many wonderful countries) - it's just USCIS have certain fraud categories they assign people depending on various factors, and coming from an economically more stable country does count for one in a case like this. :)

Hope that clarifies things, and no-one thinks I'm being all pooey now...

Unfortunately, it's not true at all.

Britain's economy is doing just as badly, if not worse.

Inflation has reached the highest level on record. The UK is running a current account

deficit at 6% of GDP. (To compare with previous years, it was 3.9% in 2006 and 2.5% in 2005.)

GDP growth is also projected to be lower than previously expected: 1¾-2¼% in 2008, rising

to 2¼-2¾% in 2009 and to 2½-3% in 2010.

UK households have overall indebtedness at 97% of GDP and 108% of total disposable incomes.

It's really not good.

Okay Okay - correction then: when I left the UK in 2005, the economy was doing better than America's :D Now that's true, adn I haven't been back there since, so technically economics don't come into my situation. Plus let's be honest, when you walk on a job in England, you get 4 weeks paid vacation instantly (no matter if it's McDonalds or not) and a substantially higher wage. True, cost of living is higher, but I really can't remember a single week I didn't have excess spending money over there - but over here, it seems like a constant struggle to live.

No nastiness intended, just comparison :) There are advantages to living here (for me) as well - nice wide open spaces to paint and draw; lovely people and of course, my newfound lovely situation, so in the end it's all good.

Yeah - biometric appointments are usually quick - it's what happens afterwards that takes forever :)

Congratulations!
