What can you do if your AOS is taking too long?

We filed it almost three months ago, and while I know that sometimes it takes much longer, it seems that all of the people who filed around the time we did, and in many cases much after, have at least had a transfer to CSC by now. There's been no movement on our case whatsoever :(

How long do you have to wait before you contact someone and who should you contact?

If it has not been transfered to CSC, then look at the processing time for your local office to get an idea of how backlogged the field office is.

This varies by field office.

You need to look at your field office for processing time.

Look it up here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of....office_type=LO

And then look here for time: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

You may want to add your field office to your profile:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You are still within the normal processing time.... you may be having to wait for an appointment at your local office for the interview....

Check the processing date on the USCIS website, if your date is more that 30 before the current date on the website you could make an infopass appointment at your local office to check what is going on...

It never hurts to schedule the good ol' infopass appointment. You get to talk to a real person, that will help you more than the 1 800 number and can actually DO something besides READING what the screen tells them.

Schedule an appointment if it will make you feel better.

Besides it's FREE

6 months is considered a normal waiting time, before that there really isn't all that much you can do to speed the process. Plus as YuandDan said; it all depends on your local office.

But every case is different.

At least you had your EAD and AP approved quickly. You can work and travel, so no reasons to stress. It takes time and loads and loads of patience.

Good luck on your journey.

I wasn't really complaining about the wait we had. I was trying to point out to the OP that 3 months wait is not long at all when it comes to AOS wait times.

It took us 12 months. Even after we received the welcome letter, we are still waiting for the green card to be made. it is just a slow process. No way around it. You just have to wait it out.

It took us 22 months to receive our AOS - no RFEs or anything - but had to repeat biometrics - and had to apply twice for EAD and APs. There is no rhyme or reason for how long you may wait or how quickly your application is approved. (Ours was transferred to California as well after waiting 14 months in Atlanta and even after it arrived there it took another 8 months ).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hafez--hopefully you will be approved ASAP..it is a shame that nothing has been happening in your case. you're a prime candidate for approval! hoping for the best for you!

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
