Hi guys Please help me.

October 18, 2007 submitted K1

February 27, 2008 RFE sent

MY RFE states the following word for word:

CIRCUMSTANCE OF MEETING: submit information regarding the circumstances under which the petitioner and beficiary met to establish the relationship

LAST MEETING: submit evidence of meeting the beneficiary in person within the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of the petition. Such evidence may include photographs of the petitioner and beneficiary together, airline ticket stubs and receipts (that indicate the month, day, and year), copies of passport pages that show admission stamps,

miliatary order(s), letter from Commanding Officer, and any other evidence that you feel will help the USCIS to determine that the petitioner has personally met the beneficiary within two years. If the petitioner and beneficiary have not met in person during the two-years immediately preceding the filing of this petition, please refer to the instructions above, relating to the "Requirement that Petitioner and Beneficiary Have Met."

That's it word for word. have any of you received this? how did you handle it? please respond how you dealt with this.

Thank you guys.

What exactly is your question?

It sounds like you didn't provide any, or enough, proof of meeting your fiancee within the last 2 years. You'll need to submit photocopies of primary evidence such as boarding passes, the visa in your passport (again, only a copy), hotel receipts, etc. You can also submit photos of the two of you together, but remember that photos are only secondary evidence. See the K-1 guide for more info on what kind of evidence to send.

Yes, clearly they are asking for information that should have been sent with the initial petition. Did you send anything already like what was requested in the RFE? If so, what did you send?

Easy, just don't worry and stay calm.

All you have to do is prove to them that you really met this person within two years. So send in the proof with the given examples they have given you.

Good luck and don't worry. You will survive the RFE.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONSES. I filed my application with an attorney and I'm not happy with the results. I will do it myself from this moment forward. I had written a paragraph but my attorney decided that 1 sentence would be enough. so that's why I got the CIRCUMSTANCE OF MEETING condition.

I told my attorney that I had pictures but he did not tell me to send them. I sent no pictures at all nor evidence that I was there, other than simply stating that I traveled there. so that's why I got the LAST MEETING condition.

I will send a copy of my passport with the dated stamps that show that I traveled there. I have traveled to Peru subsequently as well and will send copies of those dated stamps too.

do the photos have to have dates on them?

do the photos have to have dates on them?

Here is what you need..pulled it from the K1 Visa guide.

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

The photos don't need dates on them. If you have hotel receipts and boarding passes, send those too. Receipts with both your name and your fiancee's name would be very strong evidence. Photos are just about the weakest evidence, but you'll want to send at least a couple.

Your attorney is either a maroon or is not experienced with K-1 visas. Do the rest yourself, you'll be happier with the result.

Hey there. Welcome to VJ. Don't stress too much on this, just give them what they ask for and move past it. I think you have made a wise choice not to continue with this attorney. The info and support on this site is great so check out the Guides section and if you have questions still feel free to ask.

You mean "Moron" and this lawyer seems to be with his one liner. I've heard of people receiving RFE's for the pictures not being dated and in an instance where you need proof of meeting I would date them.
