hi all,

I got the trial version of acrobat. But since it is only good for 30 days and everybody knows that aint enough time for all the forms, I wanna as a question really quick.

can I prepare the forms as far as possible and leave the date and the phone number fields (the ones in the bottom next to the signatures) blank so they can be filled with a pen?

does it matter to USCIS if it is partly filled by typing and partly filled by pen?

thanks in advance,

You do know that there is a free version right? Just go to their website and download the reader. It allows any pdf files to be opened and if fillable, filled. I've always had this version and it's always worked for anything pdf related I needed :)

thanks for the answers so far.

yes I know that there is a free version but with the free version you cannot save a filled document. thats why i downloaded the trial version.

So now I should be good with filling / preparing the forms (the ones that are still yet to come like AOS, I havent even sent out I130  ) out with the information I already have and fill the rest of the information with a pen?

Oh I didn't know you couldn't save a filled document, I thought that was just a case by case thing rather than a program feature, sorry about that :)

I don't see why it would make a difference if it was partially filled out with pen, or some forms were typed and some were pen, as long as it was neat and legible then I would think it would be fine. Perhaps someone else who has actually done it that way can clarify however.

Good luck with everything

You have to sign with a pen anyway, so it's okay to neatly write dates and phone numbers, too. Do as much as you can ahead of time with the full version of Acrobat. If you're doing the 325a bio forms, it pays to print, photocopy, then sign and date later. Keep "masters" just in case.

I-130 sent Mar 30, 06

approved Aug 15, 06

I-129f sent April 24, 06

approved July 27, 06

Montreal interview Jan 18, 07

POE Toronto Jan 28, 07

EAD sent Jan. 30, 07

transferred to Vermont Feb 12

biometrics Feb 22

approved March 13

card returned undeliverable! March 27

called after 6 weeks to have EAD re-sent

AOS sent Jan. 30, 07

biometrics Feb 22

RFE for complete medical (!) Feb 23

Called Senator from NJ - never returned call

Infopass March 19 (no help)

Replied to RFE with duplicate medical March 19

Sent additional evidence (I-693A) March 26

NBC received supplement March 30

touched April 4

Interview July 16
