I haven't seen the movie and since the only movies we get out to see are G or PG rated I won't be seeing this one in the theaters but I am going to ask a REALLY dumb question... please forgive my ignorance... were there survivors from that crash? I mean how do they know what happened to make a movie about it? I know I live under a rock....

unfortunately no there were no survivors.. we know what happened because this flight was delayed leaving newark, nj and put them an hour behind schedule. by the time the other 3 planes did what they did the passengers on flight 93 were in touch with relatives by cell phone once their plane was hijacked. thats how they found out what had happened in new york and washington. so we have those conversations to piece together what took place (more or less) on the flight before the passengers tried to take the cockpit back

I'd sooner see this than anything that has Oliver Stone's name attached to it. I haven't really seen a movie of his I've liked, his 'historical' movies are often based on highly controversial sources.

Anyone see Alexander - that was an awful film.

Can't say it was good (or bad)? #######?

There reason I cant say it was a good film is that normally when I go to see a film I think of it being a good film if it has entertained me....

This film did not entertain me.... it just enlightened me as to the story of what happened on board that plane on 9/11/01

It was well made and I am glad I went to see it..

a note of interest, maybe.... cell phones don't usually work at 30,000 feet or at 450 mph at low altitudes

Don't you sit there and destroy all that some have left to hold on to...

sorry....

That's okay. You know how pesky little details can interfere with an otherwise perfectly good story. :P

Don't be sorry... if they're misrepresenting what happened by claiming the whole thing was heard on cell phones when it's not possible this is something we should know.

I wonder when we'll start seeing some movies about the 'war on terror' - then you'll see some real controversy.

There was a show on Showtime last season called "Sleeper Cell".. anyone see that?

I believe the calls were all made at cruising altitudes.

no but I bet they were going faster than is possible to make cell phone calls.

of course, they could have used the airfone, wouldn't be the first time CNN didn't get the facts right
