Hey All,

I have a question regarding the I-94, Departure / Arrival record,

Where does it end up, in the "sealed envelope" OR with the beneficiary ?

In the FAQ section of "Entering the US", it says regarding the I-94

"Your sealed envelope will be opened, your passport will be stamped, you will have the I-94 form (the white I-94) put in it (do not lose this!), "

I understand that the "sealed envelope" goes from the POE, to the local USCIS office,

and contains all the interview "stuff",

I called USCIS, 800-375-5283,

and several people told me that the beneficiary keeps the I-94, for the AOS, I-485 submittal,

Which is it ???

Please Advise

I-94 card is handed out on the flight over to fill out and give to the POE officer, the officer will staple the departure part of the I-94 card to the foreign citizen's passport next to the visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Dan&YU,

Concering the I-94,

You said the departure part of I-94, gets stapled to the passport next to the VISA,

Is there an "arrival" part of the I-94 that gets put into the "sealed envelope" ?

Does anything go into the "sealed envelope" ?

VJ had me confused,

Tx

You are given both the arrival and departure parts on the plane to fill out , the officer then takes away the arrival record and staples the departure record to the passport next to the visa.

No part of the I-94 goes in the sealed envelope. You won't get that envelope back at POE.
