Employment Letter of Petitioner

Hi! I would like to know if the employment certification letter of petitioner should be original or a fax copy would be fine. Should it be signed by the HR Dept or manager of the company where he is employed or it can be signed by his immediate manager. The thing is, the HR Dept of my fiance is located in another state so they still have to mail it to his state which might take a week or more prior to his sending it to me. So the question is a fax copy of the letter be fine and if just his immediate manager can sign it instead of the HR Dept in another state. Please advise.

Also for the request for visa pick up in the embassy, who should sign the letter. Should it be the petitioner or the beneficiary.

Thanks so much for your help.

Petitioner and benneficiary are terms used for the I-129F and USCIS process. With the consulate the foreign fiance(e) is the applicant and the USC is essentially nothing (per se). The applicant needs to make the request for disposition of his/her visa.

YMMV

That may suffice (if it's really needed) but the thing is if your fiance has met the 125% Poverty Guidelines, the employment certification is not really that necessary. W2s and 1099s can be used as proofs that he, is in fact, employed.

Hi, I work in the airline industry and my main offices are located in Arizona, yet I work in Tampa Florida.

I went to my local administration office here in Tampa and had them make a letter requesting to my payroll office the information that was needed. I signed it and my administration faxed it over to Arizona payroll along with a copy of the instruction sheet for the affidavit of support highlighting what they were asking for.

Then my payroll addressed the letter to U.S. Immigrations on a company letter head with the information they needed and sent the original letter to me, which I sent over to my attorney. I made a copy for myself for my own records.

Whether they require it or not, I do believe the original would be better. Frank B)

My husband's corporate office is in PA, but he works here in Florida. Our house is actually like a sattelite office. What he did was call his corporate HR and asked them to email and mail a certificate of employment. I brought the original copy, and the most recent one, during my interview.

I work for a the State of California, so i just had my supervisor sign my letter because I don't even know who I would ask for the letter, maybe Arnold. Plus, the way our government works with the red tape, it would probably take 6 months before I saw the letter. I have not read anything about people getting denied or questions about the letter during interview experience, so I doubt they put alot of weight into the letter. Your W-2's show the tale of tape on how much cash you bring in each year.

I had my interview yesterday. Dave sent me his original certificate of employment written by hi supervisor on a company letterhead but the presceener didn't ask for it. I just offered it to him :P

Also, when I asked if I could do the visa pick-up, the lady consul who interviewed me, she said she doesn't recommend picking up the visa because the time of delivery if u live in metro manila is also the same time as the release. And that u have to wait in line again for picking up the visa (like maybe 30-45minutes waiting inside the embassy) So i didn't push the issue na and just settled for the delivery.

I sent a copy with the petition and send Claudeth copies and originals for the interview. My employer wrote the letter on the Agency's letter head stating my name, position, length of employment and income.
