All clear? Missing Documents at Interview....

Ok, my husband and I just got back from Rio where we had our interview on 03/03/08. When we got there we had two problems:

1. My husband was missing his "Terceiro"--his Brasilian Military ID, or as called on the Consular documents "Record of Military Service"

2. My husband's passport had an incorrect printing of his birth city which didn't match his birth certificate.

So, we went ahead and did the interview with the consular official... she looked over all of our papers, and made some initials. My husband signed the DS 2001 sworn statement in front of the official, and at the end we were given a green slip asking for the two "missing" documents (what we need to do is re-make the passport with the correct birth city and then send the two documents by FEDex to the Consulate. They will mail back with visa in passport).

What I want to know is: Should we expect any more problems? The consular official said that everything should be processed after 4-5 days after receipt of the documents which makes me think that they won't be really reviewing our case until the documents arrive--is this right? Or has it been reviewed already (at the time of the interview) and as long as the two missing documents match up, then we should be good to go.

We're just a little bit on edge as to how this is going to work out, because we now have to wait at least 3 more weeks for the new passport and to send everything back in... could they request more information still? Could they decline our application based on finances or anything else? She looked at our papers and our sponsor papers and didn't say anything, just initialed some things on the side of the forms of the I-864.

Any clues?

You should be fine after you send them the documents. If they were going to deny based on finances, they would have done so at the interview. Don't worry sister, husband's visa will be yours in a few weeks!!!
