Hi All,

I have a question regarding Advance Parole. I am aware about the reentry process into the US. Most of the user experience specifies only this.

However I was wondering about the process involved when leaving the US with an AP. This is the first time I am traveling outside the US with the AP. I needed some clarification regarding the process involved when we are exiting the US assuming that I am going to be traveling with a valid AP.

When leaving the US I am supposed to submit my I-94 to the Airlines official.

1) Do I need to inform the Immigration in the Airport that I am traveling outside the US with an AP?

2) I read in some website that it only if we exit the US with an AP can we reenter back using the same AP. Am I correct?

3) During reentry back into the US after my travel how will the immigration officials know that I went out of the US with an AP if I do not show it to them during my exit?

4) Please let me know if I need to take any additional documentation when exiting the US. This with regards to only the exit process. I am aware of the additional documents required for the reentry.

Timelines

Submitted for AOS/EAD/AP - Dec 13th 2007

First NOA for all above - JAN 5th 2008

RFE for EAD - JAN 15th 2008

Submitted the RFE with required documents on - Feb16 2008

Approval of EAD - March 3rd 2008

Approval of AP - March 5th 2008

Will receive EAD card in a Month

1) you do not speak with an immigration oficial when departing the US

2) you do not need AP to exit the USA. You only need it to re-enter

3) You will have the document with you and it will be dated prior to your departure

4) No documents needed to exit except the airline will capture your I-94

YMMV
