How do I make an I-130 withdrawal from the CSC?

Please excuse my ignorance on this. I've searched and searched for the answer to this question and can only seem to come up with answers on what constitutes as PROOF of withdrawal. I really just need to know HOW to withdrawal at this point. I've looked all over the USCIS website for something official but when I put my "keywords" into the search criteria it comes up with a bunch of stuff not relevant to my case. I understand that I need to have my intentions in writing but where do I send it? My case is currently pending at the California Service Center and they have a number of addresses for different forms and I'm just not sure which one to use. I saw on this other site that a woman had FAXED her request in to the CSC, is that acceptable? If anyone can help me with this or link me to where it states a procedure for this on the USCIS website, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank You.

I called the California Service Center yesterday using the RFE trick and the first person I spoke with said that she had no idea how to withdrawal a petition. She also went on to say that the current processing date for the I-130 is October 2004! I responded by telling her that it was truly frightening that her or someone as knowlegable as her was going to be working on my case and I thank my lucky stars I'm now elidgable to file directly to Rome. What an idiot. I then called the normal USCIS rep in hopes of getting someone who actually knew what the hell they were talking about. I was told by this second person that I must send the signed letter stating our intentions to the the address posted on the top right-hand corner of our NOA1. Cool. I mean, was that so difficult? I went on to tell of the incompetency of the previous employee and asked if she could confirm the processing date for me....July 2007. I'm shocked at how misinformed this previous person was. When I asked for her employee number/sign number, she told me they don't give those out. Funny since she answered the line stating that very information. I really need to make note of that number right from the beginning. What a moron.

Ok so the address is not in the top right-hand corner but the bottom-left...SORRY! It was the only address I found on the NOA1 in any case.

So I was approved yesterday at the CSC. Apparently my request for withdrawal letter hasn't arrived there yet. I knew this was going to happen. As soon as we sent that letter we thought wouldn't it be nuts if now we're approved? And look at this. I really hope we haven't screwed things up for ourselves. The embassy here told us it could take as little 2 monts to get through the entire process of Direct Consular Filing and from the looks of the timeline from NOA2 to NVC complete, I think it still wouldn't taken longer through them. God I hope I'm right!
