:crying: I talked to a visa specialist at the DOS and she said "your case is in security checking". She was really nice too and I didn't have to wait for 10 minutes either until I got a live person!! She said "I see what is happening."

She said it can take up to 4 months or longer usually and sometimes 3 months, but that it can also be up to a year or more for some people.

She said that I could call every day if I wanted to check the status, but that it would probably be at least 4 months.

It is in one of those security checks of Condor, Mantis or NCIC but the DOS doesn't know which one it is in.

So much for the visa in 2 to 3 weeks like the consular officer said. They should say it can be 4 months or more if your name goes into security checks.

Welcome to AP!!

This makes me really sad now. :crying:

This is how things are since 9-11 if you are in one of the "special" countries. :crying:

If you love me, then I have everything I need

good morning

i'm so sorry to hear that

and i really don't know if it was the embassy fault or not

maybe when they say you will get your visa in 2 or 3 weeks they really mean that but if your case will go to security checking maybe its not thier fault

and i wonder why it will take all that long in FBI to check just a name

and i think everything going so worse after 9/11

but the bad thing is the good people paid for that not the terrorists or the bad people

i wish you the good luck and inshaallah you will hear good news soon

have a nice blessed day

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

awwwwwwwwwwww Lynn maybe it is not that bad. Maybe DOS is just smarter than the emnassy and they try to give you the worse case senario instead of the best case senario. Try to keep your faith.

I will continue ot pray for us that the process will go quickly and the visa will be issued soon. But do not give up hope that he will not make it by April. Got to keep asking for what you want. God says you have not becasue you ask not. SO keep asking......everyday.

I know how hard it is......many times I get frustrated and say I just give up...but I do not. Everyday I get a DHL alert.....it means nothing except the package is moving wihtin the embasy but they are at least working on it. I quit getting excited now when I see the email from DHL but one day I will be shocked...I will open it and it will say shipment in transit.

There has to be an end. Maybe it is not as quick as we like. But god knows more than us and he knows best....He has a plan for each of us........sometimes we just want it to be what we want and not what he wants. I know I am guilty. I want my habibi here last month even before the interview.....but I am selfish that way.

We have been fortunate so far....we filed in July and already we have finished our interview and been approved pending a visa being issued. Some are held up at the USCIS and NVC levels. I should be grateful to God and thanking him for the progress we have made. But instead I want more and I want it now. Does not mean I am ungrateful for where we are...just means I am impatient to have my loved one here with me and I forget to take the time to say thanks for what I do have.

The entire process is tiring....like a big roller coaster with big hills....huge ups and downs......but one day this to shall pass and the visa will come and we can start our lives with our new husbands. I pray that day is soon for all who wait.

God Bless

Lynn,

I read your post like four times already, and this Scripture keeps popping up in my head, so maybe I'm supposed to give you this message...??

" .....Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. BUT I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU, that your faith may not fail. "

(F) (F) (F) (F)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
