Hello all, let me explain my situation.......

I am here in the US and have been here now for four months and we have been married for a month with all of our AOS paperwork ready to send in. Now this is the problem that i need advice on, i really need to get back to the UK for family reasons and yet i havent actually sent the AOS paperwork in yet, is there a quicker way to get advanced parole so i can travel back for a short period without affecting my AOS process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Andrew

If you came here on a K1 you can not leave the US without AP or you will be abandoning your case.... you will need to file for AOS then apply for emergency AP at your local office.... you will need evidence of the emergency... ie. doctors letter/fax.. info from hospital/funeral home etc.

I hope this helps

Make an Infopass appointment at you local office. Take all of the paperwork needed as to why you need to return to the UK soon (i.e. letter from doctor).

When my husband received his emergency AP, they still wanted us to have the receipt from the post office saying that we had mailed the AOS application in. This was in Tennessee ( Memphis) so it may be different for you. I would recommend mailing off your AOS application and keeping the receipt from the post office showing the date that it was actually sent. Take this with you to your appointment with the rest of your paperwork and money needed for AP. If approved they will usually issue it that day. Hope this info. helps you. :)

You are not eligible for AP until your status is of an adjustment applicant. That won't happen until you file for AOS. File for AOS first, then get the Emergency AP.
