I called tonight and our petition was received at the NVC today!

Man, they are SO nice on the phone, I was blown away!

They told me to call on Friday to see if it's left for Montreal.

YAY!!! :dance:

this is funny but everytime i check on somebody's timeline and see some improvement i get excited too..so im happy for you..your papers are on the way..yehey!!!

Hi!

It's funny: I'm from Canada too (Montreal) and also got NOA2 approved on March 3!

When you called NVC did you just have to mention your receipt number for them to give you the status for your case?

I really hope everything keeps moving fast and smoothly for us!! (although Montreal embassy seems to be pretty slow don't you think?)

Yes, call the number 603-334-0700 and an automated voice will come on.

They give you a menu, hit number 2. It's for the K visas..it says it, so just listen for it.

You'll wait a few minutes and get the NICEST person on the phone...lol I couldn't believe how nice they were.

Tell them you are just checking to see if your petition has made it to the center and that you have a USCIS number.

Give them the number, they will then ask for the beneficiaries full name and birthday.

Congrats, I just received the same news about 15 minutes ago. :dance:

Tip: For those of you calling NVC to check if they received your case, wait to speak with a live person. If they say all operators busy, keep calling until you get a live person. The automated system is not updated real-time, it still says "we have no record of your case" but I spoke to a live person and got my NVC case number and date of receipt (today).

Tip#2: To speak to a live person, press 1 for English, then wait a second and press 5 to speak to an operator.

So what is the average NVC processing time? Usually only a couple of days, right?

Mine arrived at NVC two days after NOA2 and left NVC for London two days after that...

nvc is the boom shaka laka :goofy:

laura is spot on. the lady i spoke to was very nice and willing... shetold me they received my case on the 28th of feb and it was sent on to the embassy

on the 29th of feb and she gave me my case number...

looking at the dhl deliverys i can see that mines was delivered on 3rd of march...

it seems to be wizzing along now...just need to packet 3 to proceed with the same speed..so i can get to interview already

i am so excited... i m getting itchy
