I'm still interested in hearing why the OP is known as "Uncle" to his SO. Kinda kinky... and would also like to know if the avatar is an actual photo of the OP. I'll feel pretty horrible laughing about it if it is. But it just reminds me of a Sly Stallone mugshot. :P

Psssst... my real name ain't uncle Wally.

As for the avatar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Vonnegut

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Nothing really hard about pronouncing Vikki. Some people see how it's spelled and ask how it's pronounced....

Before I was married, no one ever could say my last name except other Hispanic people. Four letters! D I A Z! As in buenos dias!

With my first husband, no one could pronounce that name either, no matter how many times I said it. Once again four letters! G I M A! Not even other Romanians. Shiesh! GEEE- MAH!

Other than knowing right away it's a telemarketer or bill collector calling the house, I am so glad to have gotten re-married to someone with a straightforward and easily pronounceable last name. This time there's five letters though

Life long Texan, living in Hull, UK. How did this happen?

16 November - He comes to visit me in Texas

25 November - he leaves back home :(

14 December - ENGAGED! <3

1 March- I fly off to see my babe in Hull

4 April - I go home :(

9 October - He comes back to Texas!!!!

13 October - WEDDING!!!

22 October - He goes back to England and I continue to wait for my settlement visa.

13 December 2007 - Move to England

Now the wait begins, I will become a citizen then we will DFC back to the US.

Nobody can pronounce my name right. In fact, my family is currently in an uproar because our cousin is running for office and his ad is based on how people are learning to pronounce the name due to all the "good work" he's been doing, and HE pronounces it wrong in the ad! He has caved and gives the most common mispronunciation. Oh well.

He says it just fine - I love the way it sounds with his accent.

However, when we first met, I was totally saying his name wrong because I had never heard it-only seen it on the screen. I still can't pronounce it the way a Nigerian would, but I do ok.

Linds is from Canada and I have a very basic name (the cajuns are on my mom's side), so I voted Richard Simmons.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

He doesn't have any problems with my name.....its everyone else! I am getting use to being called the numerous variations they come up with. I have gone through the whole of driving school being called a different name LOL....that reminds me.....i'll have to tell them my real name tonight so they don't write it wrong on my certificate! I guess they just don't understand my accent. It does make me chuckle!
