LANSING, Mich., March 5, 2008

(CBS/AP) The governors of Michigan and Florida are saying it's increasingly important that delegates from the two states be seated.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and Florida Governor Charlie Crist say it's "reprehensible" the voices of 5.2 million people who voted in the two primaries would be silenced.

Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton won both contests in January.

They say it's "intolerable" that the Democratic National Committee has stripped the states of their delegates for moving up their primaries in violation of DNC rules.

DNC officials have suggested to both Michigan and Florida that holding another presidential contest of some kind would be one way to get the delegates seated. Both states say caucuses would be expensive to run.

CBS News senior political correspondent Jeff Greenfield reports that the Clinton campaign may be thinking about asking for "re-dos" in the two states.

”A do-over could change the whole complexion of this race," he said.

The DNC Credentials Committee could also agree this summer to seat the delegates.

Violate the rules, get punished. I don't see why that's so hard to understand??? If nothing else, they should at least lose their super delegates.

I bet, if the race was not as close as it is, they would not be whining about their delegates.

The states both chose to move their primary up, in spite of being told, that they would loose their delegates for doing so. Since the states and state parties set the rules as to how the state runs their own primary or caucus, I think the governors in both states would have had to approve, the change in primary dates.

So the only way delegates from Florida or Michigan can count this year, is if they are reselected either with a primary (which costs states money), or through the caucuses. But at this point, I don't think there is time to set all that up, and actually have a fair primary.

They will not disenfranchise those voters.

Their own state governments did. The DNC did not.

and in a general election, their votes are needed! Florida, especially.

Go ahead Hillary, pizz off the very people you need to vote for you in the general election (those that wanted Obama). She is in a no win situation. If she plays fair she gets beat in the primaries. If she plays dirty she will lose the general election. I love it!!!

I think some would say, Hilary's persitance in the race is doing more damage to the chance that Democrats have in November than not counting Michigan and Florida in the primary process.

Hmm, not a single quote from her or her campaign in this article/thread, or his for that matter. So no, it's not. Please read.
