We think we'll go with a hotel in London. Three nights. We're really cheap though.

Someone recommend something for like $100 a night pleez?

We don't care if it's a little far-out as long as we can get home safely and not-so-expensively.

Tx

Alex

there is a cheap azz place in notting hill gate that is a student housing place but they only take cash unless you go to the college to pay with credit card. it's like $60/night. there is a kitchen on each floor and you can get a room with or without a bathroom in it. http://www.travelstay.com/printAccom.asp?id=1646 we stayed there once because the comfort in was booked!

I lived at the comfort inn notting hill gate for 3 months and it was nice but I think the nightly rate is like $130?! The bathroom had a massive tub in it which was nice. The tv was super small but there was a desk in the room and I had a king size bed. http://www.lth-hotels.com/notting-hill-hotels-info.html they have free breakfast here too

both of these are like a 2 minute walk from the tube station which is on the central line and circle and disctrict lines. the circle line will basically take you to all of the touristy places.

Travel Lodge is your friend

Agree!

I've always been impressed by the quality of Travelodges - they've always been clean and in some cases the décor has been fresher and smarter than so-called four star hotels!

Thanks, but I'm looking for recommendations people might have for places they actually stayed or know about other than from Expedia.

Amber your Comfort Inn was sold out for our timeframe. :(

Looking into Travelodge. There are so many of them.

There are tons of reviews on those sites, Alex. I've gone off thjem before & they are quite true.

We've stayed at various Premier Inns throughout the UK. They are typically about 50 quid per night. They have good power showers, but are a bit mean with the towels. The beds are big and comfy. I would recommend them.

I feel like the people who post reviews on those web sites often have an expectation of perfection. It drives me nuts. Anyway, I was just hoping that people could offer me some help since I only have an hour to make this decision and I don't have time these days to spend hours and hours digging through reviews. So far, so good! I may need to spend £85 per night though... oops

2. Kings Cross

3. Marylebone

4. Battersea

You've stayed in all those?!

*shrugs*

They have deals & I've used them for places in London & Paris & even San Diego, without knowing much about the city.

I find tripadvisor so frustrating for this reason - it's like, "I spent $50 on a room at the Best Western and they didn't have 1000 count Egyptian cotton sheets so it SUCKED"

you can get much better deals in some cases on US expedia sites which quote fares in dollars that would be much cheaper than the pound rate on expedia.co.uk - something I have noticed

I have stayed in Battersea and Kings X - I was thinking more along the lines of convenience and location, as all Travel Lodges are basically the same

I've tentatively booked the Kings Cross location for 3 nights, but need Rey's approval on spending 85 pounds a night
