How to change my first name here?

Hi, everyone!

I want to change my first name in american name & add my middle name as well. I got married N now waiting for my GC, is that OK i change my first name after i got my GC? Do i need to tell USCIS after i got my GC? I know i need a court order to do that, do anyone in PA know how to do that? Am i need to hire a lawyer? THX!

Its easier to change your name with marriage. Its much more difficult if you do it afterwards. If you do change your name, you will have to pay a fee to be issued a new green card with your new name.

I think she is talking about changing her given name - like 'Susan'.

That would require a court order from a change of name proceeding. The process will vary slightly from state to state. Likely though one would petition the court, there would be a hearing, and an order would be entered. Usually a fairly simple process but most people need the services of an attorney for it. There will also be local filing fees.
