I am soo sorry that I'm so late reading this post. Had I been here, I could have told you for SURE you NEED to go to the interview with your fiance. The Dominican Republic is probably one of the highest countries on the list when it comes to visa fraud and I think they really want to see the two of you intereacting together and make sure you are not cousins or any crazy madness like that. The DR is not like most other countries where the petitioner can be there or not. YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE THERE. Pack your bags chica and head on down. I'm sure your boss will understand. Good luck with the interview.

Just curious...were you ever on the waiting list they had down there?

Wow so sorry to heard that, but you have to go to the cita it even tells you on the interview letter, Do you have an open cita? How long you waited for the whole process to end? Just go and get your fiance don't wait to long also bring proof as of what you did not go to the interview in the first place. Good luck.

My fiancee has his interview on June 4th for his K-1 Visa. I wasn't planning on attending the interview but from reading these posts, it seems like my presence is mandatory? I've been searching the Consular section of the US Embassy website at Santo Domingo and have not come across any part that states that the petitioner needs to be present at the interview. Can you send me the link, please?
