Hepa B - Advice Needed

I need your advice…please help…okay here’s the story. Every time I get a screening test for Hepa B the result will always be positive. So then the doc will advice me to get the complete panel and a liver test. After getting the results then the doc explains why Im not contagious, infectious and why I do not need treatment, however, I can’t donate blood. I have my check-up every 2 years as what the doc advice me and so far the results has been the same for years. Now, I will need to get my check-up again and thinking to have it done during my medical examination at St. Luke’s but I also think it would be better to have it done now here in our local Lab so I will know my current health status and so I can have the treatment IF NEEDED prior to my medical sched at St. Lukes. Trying to avoid for the long wait of getting the treatment done and I don’t want to feel like starting the whole process again like. Now my question is, will St. Lukes honor my doctors certificate, medical results? or does everything has to be done in their assigned Laboratory/ Clinic? Any advice??? And ohh yes, I have been discussing about this with my fiance' and he doesnt know what advice to give me...he said to ask the members on VJ...kind of funny but we are oh so thankful to all the members and of course the site itself which is so imformative and it helps a lot of people who are in the process of their visas.

Hi, sorry about your sucky situation :(

I don't know for sure, unfortunately. But I know with the medicals they will sometimes let you get it through your family doctor rather than through the embassy, so I imagine that they will honor your doctor's certificate. I don't think they'd automatically assume you forged it or the doctor's a quack or anything like that...

However, I don't know what they'll make you do about having Hepatitis B (if anything) or all of that. I'd explain the situation to them and do you have records from the past few years, all the other checkups/treatments you've had already? I think it'd help a lot if they saw that you have been watching it for a long time and that it has been consistently not a problem, too.

I think the embassies are all different with their policies on this. I would try to ask this question in your regional forum. And to be safe, why don't you call the Embassy and ask them what you should do, if there's anything you can do, what to expect, etc.

I tried calling St. Lukes Clinic but they dont entertain my questions very much and dont give me specific answers :-( and she sounds angry hehehe so Im not gonna bother her anymore. Ohh yes! such a sucky situation. Kind of risk for me to go through all these but I stay optimistic. If Im not going to give it a try then I will never know besides I feel just as healthy hehehe its not bothering me at all but I know this will make an issue after getting the Hepa test at St. Lukes.

Thank you very much Snowy...I have kept my last 2 results and will bring them with me during the medical exam. Thanks again and will keep a chin-up :-).
