Hi All,

Firstly here is my timeline so that everyone has a fair idea of our case.

I-129F & allied papers filed 29.11.2007 Vermont Day 1

NOA1 Received Hardcopy 04.12.2007 Vermont Day 6

NOA2 Received email 15.02.2008 Vermont Day 78

Package received by NVC 20.02.2008 Vermont Day 83

NOA2 received hardcopy 22.02.2008 Vermont Day 85

Package dispatched to Copenhagen Embassy 22.02.2008 NVC Day 85

Letter from NVC with Case # received in mail 27.02.2008 NVC Day 90

Now I am waiting for Packet 3 from the Embassy in Copenhagen. Yesterday March 04 2008 I wrote an email to the embassy asking about the status of the paperwork. Following was their answer:

"We do not have your case on file yet. Please allow at least 14 days for a file transfer like this.

(I am sure that this never ever takes 14 days)....my comment !!

We will normally forward instructions to the agent on a specific case within a week after we receive the case file."

I don't understand what does the underlined text mean!! Is it that they have not received it yet or have received it but not yet started working with it !!

Since I know for sure that as far as NVC information the paperwork was received by the embassy on 25 Feb 2008. (Obtained from DHL tracking information.....let me know if you need to know more about your package tracking from NVC to the respective US Embassy).

Can anyone share their experience dealing with the US Embassy in Copenhagen?

Sorry if I sound too impatient but hopefully everyone understands that the more it gets closer more impatient we become to be with our loved ones !!

Sincerely,

Hi lucky, Congratulations on your approval. I'm sure we can all relate to your impatience with all of this!

Since you know the paperwork arrived at the Embassy I wouldn't worry too much. If it left N.H. (NVC) on the 22nd then you're not even 2 weeks in yet. I'm sure you'll be hearing something soon. :)

Have you checked with others who have gone through this Consulate? You might want to consider posting in the regional forum as well.

Good luck! Hope you get to the interview stage quickly!

Firstly - I think everyone understands how you feel, and I think it's OK to take some joy in the fact that your case processed in pretty much 90+/- days. Congratulations!

Secondly - it is not unusual for NVC to show your case as having been transferred/shipped to the Embassy/Consulate when in fact it is sitting in a 'bin' waiting to be batched with others like yours. (Typically they batch many cases together along with other inter-governmental 'stuff' - almost never do they approve your case and ship it by itself.) The DHL tracking you used doesn't necessarily apply to your case (it might, but it sounds like it didn't.) as your case may not have made it to that batch. I'd give it a bit more time is the best advice/comment.
