My favorite scary movie is The Omen. The scariest part for me is how he develops the photo of the priest with the slash in it and then the priest is subsequently impaled.

Also a lot of scary scenes for me in Event Horizon. I haven't seen it in a while, but there's one scene with Jack Noseworthy's dying in some pressure chamber where his eyes explode or something really gets me. I saw him walking in Harvard Square one day and my heart dropped into my stomach!

I think his character survives that. Event Horizon is good - though its pretty graphic. There's also some footage missing from it, where the studio cut out an entire sub-plot for running time.

I couldn't remember too well. I should watch it again. I wonder if the DVD has all of the deleted scenes you mention.

No it doesn't - they were filmed but the movie didn't do well enough (even on DVD) to merit a special edition. There's a part of the movie where Sam Neill finds one of the dead crewmen (the woman who has that extremely nasty fall), and you see that his face is bruised and dirty - its a continuity error from the abandoned plotline. From what I understand there's supposed to be some sort of monster a monster chasing him around the ship.

I don't think Event Horizon is too graphic. The most graphic stuff is only on screen for a few frames (on the monitor)

There are some on the 2 disc SE, but I don't remember if they all are.

I dunno - for the time it was pretty brutal, with all the eye gouging - and those visions at the end, which are pretty much right out of hellraiser (including a tongue being ripped out at the root).

I guess you're right. It definitely had some graphic moments.
