The movie '7' scared me a bit, The part with the Sloth man creeped me out the most. I still can't look at a christmas tree air freshener and not think of that movie.

....Dead Calm, and Cape Fear upset me a bit.

Slasher movies never scared me....but the very first Friday the 13th was the closest....I had a hard time sleeping after that one.

I used to really love Nightmare on Elm street and some of the sequels. Halloween. Saw 1-4. Hostel 1& 2 were decent. The Shining. Tons! I used to sit by myself as a kid and watch horror movies alone. Weirdo. lol

I loved 7.THat's just like I can't listen to American Girl by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers without thinking Silence of the Lambs.

That's a classic. One of the best.

So many.. I don't know where to start.

- Resident Evil - the scene where they are trapped in the corridor and those laser grids start to get faster and faster.

- Scream - the Drew Barrymore death scene

- Seven - specially when the sloth guy moves and we realise he's alive

- Saw - most of the scenes

- The Silence of the Lambs

- Beloved - not a scary movie, but this scene was terrible, when I think it was Oprah who beats her kids against each other til they're dead. I can't remember much, but it was something like that.

- Pet Sematary

- Nightmare on Elm Street

- The Fly

- Stephen King's Rose Red

- Dawn of the Dead

- Stephen King's It

- Hostel

Prince of Darkness

The ending with the mirror and the hooves scares the ####### out of me.

I thought The Thing was pretty frightening - mainly because the monster in it was so unbelievably disgusting - and the paranoia it creates in not knowing who is human and who is hiding the monster.

I also think that The Omen (original version) was creepy - mainly because of the music (which consists of choral singing with satanic lyrics), but also because of that scene where Billie Whitelaw turns up at the hospital to kill Gregory Peck's wife. The expression on her face, contrasted with the knuckle-biting terror on the face of the other woman always sends a shudder up my back.

Also like Night of the Hunter - which has probably the best film psychopath ever done. There's a couple of scenes in that are really disturbing, including one where you see him go totally crazy with a knife - and then a few scenes later you see the woman's body under water with her hair floating about her face. The rest of the movie is about the womans 2 kids trying to escape the guy, who gets crazier and crazier. For a b/w movie from the 50's it really is quite intense.

Recently I was quite surprised by 30 Days of Night - the vampires in it are pretty horrific.
