yayyyyyyyyy congratulations!!!!!!!!!

when will she be coming here??? any ideas?

im getting so nervous / anxious for our interview!!!!

Thanks,

I had sent her to the embassy with March 29th as the date of trave in case they asked. Which was originally the plan. But now I'm moving into a new apartment on April 1st so I want to get some things moved in before she gets here. The living room and bedroom will need to be furnished once she gets here and she can help pick out the items, and the matress, something she has never done before. New plan is mid April depending on when she gets the Visa and the CFO Seminar (Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar at the Commission on Filipinos Overseas) she has to take.

It is a requirement of the Philippine gov't that she participate in this seminar before being authorized to leave the contry for immigration. One of the things that worries me is that one of the key points of this seminar involves spousal abuse in the US. I hope she doesn't get the wrong idea from this seminar. I know I'll never do it, but I hate the fact that apparently the issue is big enough in the States that a foreign country has to tell you about it before you immigrate.

Marc

how exciting that you get to furnish the new apartment together!! :)

im sure she will understand about the spousal abuse thing...just a precautionary measure kinda thing, ya know?

good luck to you guys!!

these are the longest days of my life!!! i havent seen adriano in 9 months and i will see him this sunday, i absolutely cannot wait!!! we will also be moving in a few months (end of august)...ill be going back to school (notre dame woot woot), so we will be moving to indiana...a farrr cry from brooklyn, but im also excited to decorate our new apartment together :D im hoping he will get here around april first, provided everything goes well with the interview of course!!

How did you guys find out when NVC received your cases? Is it ok to call them everyday or do they document our calls? They probably can't if they don't have my file yet right? Again I see that Vermont is blowing California away in speed. Our case not received...Vermont filers approved after us...received already like 2 days after. Not one single step in this process is going to be smooth sailing for us, I can see that.

it took us a month to get from CSC to NVC. when you call you have to speak to a human. The automated system doesnt get updated with K1 and k3 info.

It took us about a month to get to NVC - I'd give them a call after about 3-4 weeks then call every week or so after :)

In other news - am back at work... still poorly but at least I am poorly *and* earning (a small amount of) money :)

Not sure I gave you a proper welcome back...so welcome back! :)

Thanks! Still feel like cr@p but mnleh - at least I got to work to get paid... sad life but then with the dire paid leave in the US maybe I had better get used to this :(

Yep, here's some good news from Frankfurt! My visa was approved yesterday! The Consul just took my fingerprints and that was it! I'll stay in Germany until mid June to sort out some things and will be traveling to Washington on 06/18.

The most exciting part about the whole "interview" was when I was handed a booklet called

"Welcome to the United States- A Guide for New Immigrants" :D

We could start a K1 July Filers AOS thread...:wacko: or is that too confusing

We have our beanbag room in the "Moving here and your new life in America" forum - I figured this would be the best place to put it because we can talk about anything including AOS - how we are adjusting, weddings, moving, babies(!!!!)
