He's loving it! We're getting ready to close on the house and I have the whole kitchen remodel started. Whew. It's going to be a grand kitchen. We should be able to move in end of July. The deck is his to design. We have plotted out the garden area and will be starting on that shortly - if it ever quits snowing!

We had a wonderful first weekend alone and last week he watched one of my girls with strep throat and this week, he's watching the other with the flu. He's a wonderful wonderful man and has taken care of all of us. We're very happy.

Now it's on to the AOS process which I am very confused about. What to file and how much money?

Glad to hear things are in full swing for you Audrey! We are bidding on a house this week! So exciting!!

Fret not over the AOS. There are a few forms to fill out and the total fee is $1,010. If you read the AOS guide here on VJ you will get through it without any problem! Griff had his biometrics last week and we've already been transferred to CSC, so now we simply wait for approvals!!

Its nice to see you!! Don't be such a stranger!!

Thanks and good luck on the bid for your house. That's great news.

I checked the guides and I couldn't find anywhere the fee. What is with the biometrics? For him or for me? I thought the interview was all he had. Hmmm - I guess I have to go back and read them again. Do you do this before you can get married? Sorry, I'm just a bit lost - I'm still on cloud 9.

Sounds like you're on your way. Congratulations.

First, AOS is started once you are married. You need your marriage certificate for it. And yet more passport style photos!!!

Biometrics is for Phil - he will have to go to the nearest USCIS office to you and have his fingerprints taken (again!!), they'll take a photo of him and have him sign a form. The cost ($80) is included in the AOS fee of $1,010.

You guys may or may not be subjected to an AOS interview. Its roughly 50/50 chance. If your case is transferred to CSC you'll likly be approved without an interview.

Don't forget to take Phil to apply for his SS# once he's been here for 2 weeks. Bring his birth cert and passort and the completed form which you can get from SS online.

Its really not that complicated. I just printed off the guides and checked things off the list as we completed them. I found it easier than the K1!

I just followed the guides:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

I just printed them out and checked off as I went along.

One other key piece is the I-693A form - for vaccinations. If the docs at Knightsbridge gave Phil a completed vaccination form, I have heard that can be included in the packet in lieu of the I-693A. Griff needed on jab once he got here as the UK would not give him a Tetanus shot since he'd received his "lifetime limit" of 5. We had to take the I-693A to a local civil surgeon for completion, which cost $40 (though the price can vary significantly). The shot itself was another $45. UGH! It really adds up!

As I think of other tidbits that might be helpful to know, I will pass them along to you. I think I've metioned the most significant stuff.

If you ever have any questions, though, just ask! In PM or the AOS forum, which has been invaluable to me!
