Amber, how are you feeling today? (wherever she is :P )

I think I'm doing better. Coughing up lots of icky stuff and having a hard time breathing. Usually for me that means I'm on the mend. At least my nose isn't stuffy anymore because it's all red and sore from blowing it for 5 days!

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

 great charles just great...

in other news...

my uncle just came over and told us he drove his truck into a tree this weekend at the cabins  he said he was really drunk and thought it would be a good idea to get out of the car in a field while it was in drive. the truck is a big dodge ram but it's like a 97 or 98 and has tons of miles on it so he said instead of paying the $3000 to get it fixed he just bought a new one yesterday that is more "beefy" than this one. now he is selling it for $800. I told him to keep it for driving into trees. he said "wow that's such a good idea"

Hello my lovely kittens :)

Made it home, managed to tidy my flat as I have friends coming over tomorrow night and made myself such a yummy dinner (with pic of course!). Chicken curry (chicken, onion, garlic, yellow pepper and heaps of chili) with brown rice and raita. So spicy, so good.

I am still doing surprisingly well with my diet and I actually really enjoy it.

I am still a bit bummed about my Mom, thanks to all for your sympathy. I just feel helpless. And I feel like the cancer she has is also sucking up my energy.

Anyway, I spoke to her again and I am going over there on Saturday for the garlic & citrus chicken. I ordered an organic chicken at the market hall, mostly fed with corn - it's a bit more yellow than the regular ones.

Tomorrow is Friday, oh how excellent! I bought Atonement with Keira Knightly on DVD, so I will watch that on Sunday. Has anyone seen it yet? Is it good? I only heard good things about it.

Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.

The curry looks deeelicious.

I haven't seen Atonement but it's on my list!

Speaking of movies, we watched The Lives of Others the other night. We'd already seen it in the movies and da husband wanted to see it again, so we got it from Netflix. It's definitely worth seeing.

(sorry about the non sequiturs!)

I had a person who works at USCIS buy something from me on ebay...should I hold it hostage until all petitions are approved?

I so understand your frustration, Booty, but why are you limited to jobs on campus? Expand your search. I was also screwed by the reorganization here, but there were no other options for me, my position ceased to exist and there were no other decent options available, unless I wanna be a cook or a hotel front desk clerk, which no way in he!! I'm not cut out to be a receptionist, never have never will.

Unlike you I have extremely good organizational skills, but that doesn't mean I enjoy taking over other people's mess and organize. My dream job would be start organizing the work I've been doing and keep it always organized, not take over and have to organize something I'm not even familiar with.

The reason I'm limited to campus is because it's pretty much the only state job here in this area unless I wanted to work on the road crew. That's not really up my alley either. I hate to give up my state job because of the benefits and the retirement. I am not really cut out to be a receptionist either. It's just not my style. I love, love, love working with money which is what I used to do. I quit working at a bank to work in the cashier's office on campus. I loved that job but my boss and supervisor ruined it for me. They were both complete idiots. After I left that job to come to this one they continued to call me for about 6 months asking how to do my job. It just infuriated me that they were getting paid so much to do their job and didn't even have a clue as to what I did. Plus, I was tied to my desk at that job. I worked with a bunch of time police and two year olds. I just got tired of it. If I could have had the work environment over there that I have here it would have been awesome.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
