I love food scales! drives neil mad when I go around weighing stuff  he's like let's just eat already!

hey julie is it true that 1mL = 1g? this guy I worked with in London told me that like I was dumb for not knowing it because I was looking for a measuring thingy to measure mL of honey or something. it doesn't make sense though because some things like honey weigh more than water

there's elves in our house! we hear people upstairs and then neil goes upstairs to say something to someone and no cars in the driveway, the tv on, no one here!

Clearly, it must be elves! ;) Maybe you have chipmunks or squirrels (!!) living inbetween the floors - my uncle in Cleveland had that problem a couple of times. Or do you hear voices? Spooky!

I just got home after shopping for some stuff and had dinner. Of course I took a picture (the reason why I take is a picture is because I joined a food group in flickr, where people take pics of their dishes)

Nothing spectacular tonight though, red mini potatoes, boiled, with chives and olive oil, red pepper, sugar peas (had them left over), a boiled easter egg with dijon mustard and some German "Quark" with fresh herbs.

I am supposed to go to yoga at 8pm, but I really doubt I will go because I am so freaking lazy! :bonk: My sofa is just so comfy.

Nessa, which scale did you buy - I looked it up, but there were a few on amazon.

Regarding the 1ml=1gr thing, I really have no idea! But it does not sound logical. I think he was taking the piss out of you, Amber. :)

does this sound good??

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

INGREDIENTS:

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup water

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules

1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a bowl, mix the oregano, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture into chicken. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken in butter for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Place chicken in a slow cooker.

2. In the same skillet, mix the water, lemon juice, garlic, and bouillon. Bring the mixture to boil. Pour over the chicken in the slow cooker.

3. Cover, and cook on High for 3 hours, or Low for 6 hours. Add the parsley to the slow cooker 15 to 30 minutes before the end of the cook time.

this was pretty good.... I didn't have fresh lemon or garlic though so I had to use bottled lemon juice and garlic powder... hubby gave it a A+ .. I even added a bit of cumin like you suggested, nessa...

I am feeling stressed out right now...

I was just doing some figuring and what hubby will be making working part time and what I will be making will barely cover our expenses... I might have to consider working full time... I know this might sound crazy to some but I am just not sure If I am ready mentally and emotionally to work full time...

plus having to take care of things around the homestead too....

he does say he will be doing side jobs and also helping out his dad and brother (he will get paid for that) but I don't know when that will start etc...

it's ok that he was rude because he was from iceland and didn't speak very good english...he would spell the goat cheese mousse "goad cheese mousse" and he got mad at me for not knowing what he was talking about when he said to "pencil it on" (butter onto filo pastry) so he got all mad and showed me I was like secretly laughing on the inside but informed him it was infact NOT a pencil but a pastry brush :)

I was thinking about having some hard boiled easter eggs with my lunch but I think I will just make them into egg salad so more people can eat them and I won't be tempted to eat lots of them. I just had a skinny cow ice cream sandwich and they're so yummy! I'm feeling so hot I think I might be breaking a fever so I thought eating something cold would help.

I am sorry to hear that you are stressed, Marilyn. Have you thought of seeing a therapist? Maybe that can help you to build up the strength you need. I hope things work out for you (F) (F)

push it. sometimes we men need a nudge. or more.

if you think you might not be ready, then you probably aren't. take it easy on yourself.
