Hey Amber, I wish the best for your sister (F)

Marilyn, Congratulations. I'm sorry I wasn't around. :luv:

I hate feeling sorry for myself. As I was expecting, I can't sleep. So whatever. I can't do that job. I thought I could, but I can't.

Was it that bad? I'm sorry you are having a hard time with your job. The one we thought Javi had hasn't worked out yet either. The guy was supposed to call Wednesday or yesterday and Javi hasn't heard anything. Javi said if he hasn't called by today at 12 he's going to call him.

Marilyn: I'm sorry, I wasn't around much yesterday either. Congratulations on the 4 year mark. Me and Javi will celebrate our 4 year mark in May.

We took my car to get it worked on yesterday, oil and spark plugs changed. It was $320. I just about died when they told us the price. I guess that's what I get for having one of those foreign made cars that can only be worked on at the dealership.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I just hate hate hate my life so much right now you have no idea. I'm in the worst mood ever!! and I'm not even PMSing :dead:

Now seriously, I was really p!ssed off with the fact that I was somebody, I had my own fuc!ing office, people would answer to me. Then I came here to find a job where I was a nobody, I was seen as some stupid cunnt that really, only needed to finish high school to be able to do that job, I hated that all my experience and education just counted as nothing. But I was ok with that, I could start from the botton as if I were 17 again. There was hope I could go up someday maybe.

But now, I made the mistake of accepting a job that I wouldn't even accept when I was 16. I'm so stupid stupid stupid!! :girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn: what was I thinking?

I have to sit there for 9 hours with no computer, nothing, just staring at the walls and smiling at people and all the work I have to do is every hour for 5 minutes tops I have something to do. That's it! I'm the most impatient person on Earth. I dread going to the doctor and having to wait over 10 minutes to be seen. It drives me insane, now 9 hours OMG I'll go crazy!!

Like Amber is happy she got a brainless job, but at least she will be answering customers all the time, she won't sit there and stare at the wall. :dead:

Feels good to vent, thanks.

I understand exactly what you mean. The job I have no isn't that great either. They created this position but there really isn't THAT much work for me to do. So mostly I just sit here trying to look busy. I hate that. I'm not using my degree either. I'm thinking about going back to school, especially since we get free classes. I just can't get motivated to do it.

I can't stand to just sit around and do nothing. I would so much rather have things to do because it makes the day go by faster. Hopefully you'll find something else soon. (F)

Thanks booty.

I just spent 40 minutes applying for this position online. That's the only good thing about being at work bored yesterday is that I read and re-read every newspaper they had and I found this job announcement.

I really hate when they have this step by step online, like you first upload your resume and then they ask u to pretty much retype everything and then they ask 5 million questions over and over again. But oh well...

You're welcome!

I hate doing that too. And some jobs just require way too much information to be included considering the job. I was looking for a second job before Christmas to make some extra money. I started filling out the online application at Old Navy and finally said to heck with this. It was like I was applying for a top secret government job. It was ridiculous. It's just a freaking clothing store.

Wow, what a week!

Wednesday: I get in to work in the morning, am told by my mentor that a new position is open (managerial) and that he believes it's mine if I want it. So... I spend all of Wednesday getting my resume ready (in addition to my usual work) and go to my mentors place in the evening and have him coach me on how to interview for a management job.... my first ever.

Thursday: Group sessions all morning, one-on-one interview around lunch, take the rest of the day off and sleep. Pressure too much? All I did so far is interview and I'm tired.

Friday (today): I didn't get the job. But I learned a lot.

So that's where you've been!

What a ride... what did you learn?

That actually using the right words matter more than thinking them. That I may not be cut out for it, at least not yet. I'm still impatient, get easily frustrated when I perceive someone else is being dense. All part of the communication gap.

Things to work on. Maybe in another two years.

I hate those ones too. Just read my resume and cover letter. If we get past that and you are still interested, call me and maybe we will fill out the application.

Today, I had a phone interview with one of the more disorganized people on the planet. Apparently she forgot she was supposed to call me at 9 and only remembered when there was some Post-It note on her desk about it at 11. She then stumbled completely through the interview, obviously had no idea what she was doing. She just rambled through a list of questions that were extremely vague and then wanted to hang up without explaining the job at all. Fantastic. I had to ask her what the job was in more detail. Normally, employers explain the job and then ask how you match up. That makes the interview much less painful for everyone. Not this one. One of the worst interviews I have had to go through in awhile.

I have another interview on Monday and one on Tuesday. I like the one on Monday. She sounded like she had her ducks in a row and I might be interested. The one on Tuesday...I dunno. The guy sounded like a bit of a douche on the phone. I will go, but I doubt it will be worth my time to do so.

Good luck to everyone looking for a job. It sucks.

Yeah. I need to work on 'message delivery', is what I was told this morning by a senior manager who observed the group sessions. He knows what I do, he shares my perspective so he knows what I was trying to say - but he said I didn't deliver the message in a way that got across to people who didn't already share my view of the world....

IOW i need to be clearer.

So that's where you've been!

I need to break into the next payband. Management is the only available route. I'll hope to make it happen, just not this year.
