I'm not asleep; my housemate and I are having a spring clean!

I was asked to feed a friend's cat, so I went and did that yesterday. I noticed that her house was looking pretty filthy (she's a very busy teacher and is away at weekends, and she has a lodger who never cleans and it depresses her) so I stayed to do her washing and clean her floors. Then my housemate weeded the garden and planted some new plants for her.

Then today I think we both realised we needed to sort out our own house, so my housemate has been gardening since 7 am (she couldn't sleep) and I've been scrubbing the kitchen floors and cupboards and now I'm working on my room/study. Wondering if I should start throwing a few things out. I have a few odd knick-knacks I'm not sure what to do with; can't really sell them, not worth throwing them away...maybe a visit to the local charity shop is in order.

One downside to the spring cleaning is that our shower is out of action due to it being re-sealed. I'm waiting to hear from my friend if I can pop round hers and use her shower later on!

Thanks cattattude - she is a very good friend to us, too, and has us over for meals often. She likes hosting, my housemate likes gardening, and I like cleaning, so we each do our thing for the others; a win-win situation!

Ugh, I am watching a snake documentary on tv...I love getting grossed out by it! I am hiding under my sofa blankie!!! A cobra just bit into the camera and it make me jump

Rach, I didn't do ANY cleaning this weekend, so I am glad that you cleaned two houses in two days (kind of made up for me being a slacker!). You are not up for house sitting my flat for ten days by any chance?

I stepped on a bee at the beach today and my toe still hurts ... my hubby had my back though he buried the sucker in the sand
