fuc*ing computer. I turned the internet on at 6:45 am then I went make coffee, which took me less than 10 minutes and when I come back it shows that we're on 197.5 on our transfer which has a 200 limit before our internet slows to where it takes 5 min to load 1 page for 24 hours and the damn adobe was updating. In less than 10 min it manage to auto update 48Mb.

So I turn off the internet and wait another 2 hours so it's down to 170, but still, i won't be able to use much longer before it reachs the limit again.

Also while waiting I went program by program we have installed on our computer to check which ones were in update automatically and change to request update.

hughesnet......they blow more than a hurricane. 200 mb in a 24 hour period max, $65 a month. when i first got satellite internet it was 700 mb, they've been decreasing the amount ever since.

$65 a month for that??? :o we pay $45/ month for our cable internet and I thought it was expensive ....lol

it seems they take advantage of people who can't get DSL or Cable...

two choices out here, satellite or dial up. i'm gonna see what wild blue has for limits, they've recently become a competitor.

yeah but some programs have no option. I changed adobe acrobat, but photoshop doesn't give the option, but I doubt it will update anything. Changed itunes, I will open yim and msn make sure they don't update, and changed a few others. I went to all programs and opened them all to make sure they weren't on auto update.

Did you know that from 3-6am (eastern time) we can download transfer whatever we want that it doesn't add to the 200 limit? so it's not for the past 24 hours, it's for the past 24 hour minus those 3 hours.

I also changed all updates that are extremely necessary to run between those 3 free hours on Saturdays (norton, pest patrol and spysweeper).

I wonder what's going on next door, to the left. We don't have any neighbors in the houses to the left or right of us. We found out the house to the right has a repaired sinkhole(if only we knew that BEFORE buying ours), and the ppl who lived there (a couple who got divorced) moved out over a year ago and it was for sale forever. Not sure if it sold or they took it off the market b/c the sign is down.

To the left, no one has lived there since last September...two brothers lived there who seemed pretty shady to me. They were young too, like 20 and 21. I always thought they were going to get arrested one day. I just knew it and joked about it a lot, lol. They'd have a ton of people to their house, yet it would be sooo quiet like they didn't want anyone noticing them. Not the typical loud music parties. They got arrested last Sept for drugs. And no one has lived there since. Now there are cars there and a Septic truck...I wonder if new people are moving in. I hope not haha.

This is mostly a good and safe area, but it was strange to have the next door neighbors be arrested, yet I wasn't surprised at all.
