Marylin-I'm glad your hubby likes the job so far!

Kavi has been napping for awhile...I'm bored. My parents were visiting last week and I had a lot of fun with my mom but now she's gone. :crying: I feel isolated. I know I shouldn't be complaining on a site where people move from different countries away from their fam to be here! I am a baby. I know people here but I feel like I never see them nowadays.

Is there any kind of mommy group you could get together with during the day, maybe even through church? A friend of mine felt isolated and like she was going to go buggy after having her baby found this mommy group that got together once every week or so with the babies, who were all under 2 I think and they went around to each other's places. It was good for the moms and the babies.

Good idea. I did recently talk to a couple ladies I used to see all the time at a bible study we had and we are starting it back up during the day once a week. It's true, you have to see people during the week when you are home alone with a baby.

GTG, mom calling. :)

The library has TONS of activities here that I take my cousin to. She is 21 months and loves to play with all the other kids there. Once a week they have a movement class too where all the kids play instruments and dance around and sing. It's kind of a headache inducer but she has so much fun so I take her to it if I have her. Also, I'm in the Junior League and I make all sorts of playdates for her with the moms that have nothing better to do than have lots of playdates

Thanks for the info Amber. I think Kavi is too little yet to pay attention to anything at the library but I would take him when he's a bit older. Friends if mine take their little girl, I think also 21 mos, to the library for story time. Sounds cute.

my stomach would act very weird when I was pregnant... I never really threw up or anything but I always felt nauseous... and my stomach would be very picky on what it wanted to eat... it would drive my hubby crazy when we would go out to eat because i always knew what I didn't want to eat but I could never figure out what my stomach wanted.. oh and I couldn't stand chicken when I was pregnant.... my stomach would turn when my hubby would suggest eating at El Polo Loco.. but when I am not pregnant I love eating there ...

LOL I used to drive Suj crazy while grocery shopping too. I knew what I didn't want for meals but couldn't figure out what I did want. He didn't get it. :) Nothing would look appealing or it would give me heartburn.

do any of you make a list before you go to the store of every meal that you're going to eat that week and what day? I saw a guy at the grocery earlier and he had a list separated into days and what he needed to buy for what day. it seemed like a neat idea but a little over the top too.

Stina, what about mommy/baby exercise classes.....you know the kind I mean? Where the baby is part of the exercises. Kavi might be old enough now and certainly will be soon if he's not already. I don't know how expensive they'd be, but there are also probably tapes you can use to work out at home.

No but doesn't sound like a bad idea...but time consuming. I try to have an idea of what to buy to make different combos of meals so I don't have to go back much during the week.

my mom has a set meal plan for the week.. like Thursday is soup day, Monday is ground beef day etc.... and then when she makes her list she will decide what she wants to make during the week and then buys the ingredients for it...

what i usually do is buy the same ingredients and then day by day I will stare into my cupboards and fridge and decide what to make :P

if I am more organized I will go through my recipes and pick ones I want to try and then right down the ingredients for them...

I like to try and plan for the week and then write down everything I need. But I invariably miss things and wind up going multiple times a week. I generally take a list for a big shopping trip, but not separated into days or recipes.

Not a bad idea. I do have a silly fear of going to a group where I don't know any of the moms...I'd have to test the waters cuz I don't want to go to one w/ really opinionated moms hehe. Like ppl obsessed w/ breastfeeding(I am pro bf-ing but am not currently doing it and don't care if ppl do or don't) or all organic or other passionate feelings on baby related things. :innocent:

I also take a shopping list so I don't forget things.

Breastfeeding in public is DISGUSTING!:innocent:

i hate organic evangelists.... they need to keep their passions to themselves...

or indeed their organic passion fruits...
