layoffs this week. just heard.

Is your job in danger? What happened to the other job you applied for?

My job isn't in danger yet. They're targeting people at one pay band higher than me and above.

As for the other job, I am hearing that listing may be cancelled. It's at two pay bands higher than mine.

That's good to hear. Might be better to stay where you are - last in, first out.

As much as I love my job, I could use a year's salary pay off. So I am hoping to become a victim of the current banking crisis. :lol:

Julie-I took a peak at your pictures in your flikr link. I wanted to say they are cool. I looked at the food pictures, wow you make delicious looking dinners!! I want them. :) And many other pictures I looked at are beautiful. One question, do your dinners always look so beautiful? haha If so, that's amazing.

Ohhhhh thanks :) I think you are the first VJer to click on that link, Stina!! Regarding my cooking - if I can get of my lazy bum to actually cook, then I make my plates look like that. At the moment I don't really feel like cooking, which is a shame. I am just not inspired - I wish I had someone to cook for everyday. I would love that.

Back in my flatshare in Melbourne, I would cook for my housemates every day. It was so much fun. I miss it. :(

:no: I saw all those pics a long time ago, needless to say they are beautiful. About the dishes...I told you several times you're a natural! You'll have a friend visiting soon, I am sure you'll be inspired then :yes:

BTW your tattoo looks great! Too bad your arm swell up, I am sure it'll go down in a couple of days though.

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!

hubby's "new" job called him this morning and asked him to come in for a drug test.... i am wondering if this means the background check cleared or if they are still waiting for it...

it usually is the last step before starting work sister marilyn...they don;t pay for the test...which is usually $65.00 unless they plan on hiring the person
