one of my nephews might be having a Birthday party today.... hubby has to work today so either his dad or brother is going to pick me up to go... it will be weird.. this will be the first family get together I will go to without my hubby

Hey peeps!

Just came back from Mom's, after celebrating Grandma's 83rd. I made a huge Paella (no pics, sorry) and we drank a bottle of champagne and two bottles of red between the three of us. It was a very nice day, actually one of the best days the three of us ever had together. It was emotionally very moving, since we also spoke about what happens when Mom and/or Grandma die, what music they want at their funeral, what kind of funeral in general, how I should arrange everything etc. We cried a bit, but it was really time to put those things on the table, since Mom's health is so unstable because of the cancer and because cute little granny is a wee bit old. I breaks my heart to think about their death, but I hope that facing reality and not repressing the thoughts will make me deal with it in a more adult way.

I got grandma a little weatherstation with indoor and outdoor temperatures and a little cartoon man on the actual display - with the changing temperature he changes his outfits (from wintercoat and beanie to speedos LOL), so we stuck the outdoor thermometer into the frezzer to see him in the winter outfit (with a little snowman in the background) and the put the thermometer on the heater, to see him change his outfit to the speedos (with a sun chair in the background). She loved it and we had lots of giggles.

we went to lunch today with my dad and the hostess/host (whatever IT was) was either a man that looked and spoke very womanly or a woman that was manly. either way didn't expect to see that.
