OK - I just have to say that I may not need to bleach my hair anymore after this whol process! It may just turn white on its own!

I called the NVC and they have already sent the paperwork to Barbados! It is soooo close!

I hope I have Gill's luck and good blessings! It is all happening so fast now. When I sent the I129f I thought I would be waiting FOREVER!!!

Maybe if my timing is right Louis will get his interview while I am in St Lucia next month!!!

ahhhh!!!

Ok - I will calm down now...

:-)

Irie,

Things are moving real fast for you. That would be great if you can get the interview done while your there. Best of luck to you.

Girl, a no u one did wah drap dung...he had to have gone inside. I think all you need is the letter to get in right? Well, mi know. My friend that had her interview today lost site of him in the line. She was behind him, but he did go inside. Girl, mi woudah pay $1,000 to be sitting next to the CO...u just don't know. I think this is the closure that my cousin wanted (to know that he's hurt). She still very much upset about the whole thing, she spent soooooo MUCH money (no only on the K-1), but by helping his family out. Girl, just to hear the message on the phone sent me into a histerial laugh. To tell you the truth, it almost sound like he was crying (I know he was diffinetly cussing). I think he said bbclaat about 20 times. All he's doing now is making threat, but we're the wrong family to threatened. You mess with one, you mess with ALL!

Yardie,

Heck yeah I'd be ok! If he is getting the job done by supporting his family and happy I would LOVE that! Thats what life is all about. When I write on here, i write my OWN thoughts not what society says I should think, so I truly don't see those jobs as menial. i for one want to be barefoot and pregant and would love for my man to support me. I want to move from the states an live a carefree life somewhere else. i don't place to much emphasis on the "job" that you have cause i wasn't born to live life working, I want to live life living and that has always been my goal. i need a man who has that same dream...and I beileve Evan does.

I dated a guy who made about $80K and was up for promotion. He was a smart, good looking guy, and had drive, BUT he also didn't share the same goals as me....to be barefoot pregnant and living on some little island somewhere...haha. he would have rather I stay working after haivn a baby and get a nanny.....oh no! He already makes $80K and I still need to work...his drive was all about the money...not about a good life and enjoying your family and kids. He would never have liked the idea that I just want to be a Carni or something, cause to him, he had to have the perfect wife, 2 kids, hot car, exectutive job, and big house. So he needed his wife to work work work to support this dream. Now thats ambition and drive, but it doesnt actually equate to happiness for us as a couple.

That was my ex to a T

I get u Lita..and I agree.."when am i going to watch the next man wash the floors"

Exactly, I get that everyone has to start somewhere, but knowing myself and the things I want to do in life...that have nothing to do with a career....I need someone who has the same goals otherwise we as a couple will be so out of balance and will probably never get there. I believe in being compatilbe on many levels....religion, ambitions, dreams, this compatiblity will help us grow together, and not grow apart.

But what if your man is content and happy "washing the floors" or any other "menial" type job? What if that is his passion in life and he doesn't see it as a starting point but somewhere that he is happy and comfortable with as his job in life? Would you be ok with that?

ok like i stated before santation workers in nyc make $70K a year. i'd be happy with that. now if he is in a low paying job and he's happy with dat..then he wouldn't be my man for long....

1luv...This is real life..no poking fun here

Ur hubby knows that reading and writing is something he wants to achieve so he is doing what is necessary. I forget who said but some men DO NOT care to ever learn and they are ok with that. Is it that they "think" learning to read and write will get them no further than where they r right now ?

i agree with that....and i think there is more too it as well...i know for mike he was ashamed that he could not read or write that well....and there for did NOT want to get help because he felt like he was the only person in the US with this issue....i explained time and time again he is so not the only person with this issue....still he didn't want to believe me and got a ok job...stocking shelves which is fine...happy for him to have that job....BUT he doesn't want to look for a better job or a second job because that would mean more paperwork....

This is where it gets to be a problem for me. He's holding himself back cause his mind is not free....not because someone tells him he can't do it.

and it is aproblem for me as well....i want to drill a hole into his thick head and put some sense into him....it really bothers me....

Nans, this is a very tricky situation. You have to thread gently. Do not push too hard or else you will never get him to try. Just talk about it and not get upset when you do. I know it is fraustrating but you can't give up.

My ex (the barber) was very smart (street) could read and write but could not hold a conversation in public. You know how it is in a Jaamican barber shop. That is all the conversation he wanted to have. When he moved to NC with me, he claimed he could not get a job but I think he was afraid to actually go on an interview for fear ne would not be able to handle it. I was patient with him but he decided to go back to NYC back to his old barber shop where he was comfortable hanging out with the guys.:angry:

Hey guys, I am back. Just spent the day with my daughter. It is her 18th birthday.

That's great Claire, what did the two of you do? You know I remember what I did for my 18th birtday and I can't remember what I did yesterday. Now, explain that.

She got her learner's permit and we went out to Red Lobsters'. The went shopping for some thiings she wanted. I bought her a nice cake and some baloons and took them to her dorm this morning. She did not really want to do anything. She wants a car, but I can't get that right now. I am looking for an affordable one right now.

Wow, I would never call any of those jobs "menial". I think everyone should do what they need to do to support themselves or their family....theres nothing menial about that. I personally just don't like to stick to doing just one thing and I don't think that washing floors can support me, a child, a husband, a house and all the other expenses that we would surely have. I don't beleive in living in debt, out of your means, or in misery. If he can get a "better- paying" job then he definitely needs to have to drive to do that if he is with me. I can't imagine he would stay at that job knowing that he could get another one that helps himself and his family out more. A man that doesnt have the drive to get out of a dificult situation is just not for me.

I personal like a man with dreams and ambitions. I would support my husband in whatever he wanted to do. I just believe that we would have to find away to live with in our means. Not everyone is geared towards college or suited for a suit and tie job. The debt thing is key. If we can live a debt free life without credit card debt and car payments then we can be rich in the end. Saving for the best future for our family and retirement. Not all educated people are best when it comes to finances. I believe money is the number one problem in a lot of marriages. So if my man is smart with money then any job will be fine. I have a masters in Education and am fine with whoever as long as they make me happy. :luv: Would I be fine if my husband decided to quiet college and fine a job in a factory. Yes. But I know that is not his dream. His dream has always been to go to college but his mom couldn't afford to send him. I really like how is following his dreams and going back to school after ten years.

Okay I think I have diarrhea to talking too much and rambling..
