Got another question.........As far as my SO and getting his birth record (certificate), how many will we actually need? Can we photocopy it or does it need to be origional/certified copy?

And in regards to the person who posted yesterday or the day before about the ID taking so long to correct....my SO went yesterday and they said he would get it in January! What a joke! Good thing we are not applying for the K-1 until late January/early February!

I did ask him if he knew what the RGD was and he did not. So, my next question is, is anyone familiar with Lucea? We went there and got his birth record from a place called Bowers Agency. They seem to do a lot of things there birth record, passport, marriage, etc. Would that be the RGD?

Boy I am full of wuestions this morning. My mind goes a mile a minute and sometimes when I open my mouth/keyboard, it all comes at once!

Thanks

Im familiar with Lucea. Whats your question?

Do you know Bowers Agency? That is where we got my SO birth record. They also do passport, marriage, etc. Is that the RGD in Lucea? If not, then where is the RGD? I checked their website, but got no actual address/location.

That sounds like either they are an agent doing business with the RGD or the RGD itself. He could prpbably get all his documents through them. All he has to do is ask them what type of service they provide.

Alright Ty 2 weeks til your approval!!

JG where did you say we can get this orgasmic tea in a cup? Did you post a website a while back?

Lawny I'm sorry to hear about your mail coming back. Remember trouble don't last always and this will soon pass.

WAKEY.. wha gwaan?? how is Dwayne.. u know some of us have to live vicariously through u when it comes to a SO at home..u gonna hate to come on VJ in a min w/ all my questions LOL

Hey Everyone!

I miss you guys. Adjustment is work like all the Vets said. I'm consumed with trying to get the wedding all set for 8/30. We will be having a small ceremony at the house.

We are having so much fun. We are watching movies and taking long walks with the dog and just talking and laughing. The other stuff is also the bomb too.

So yesterday we were talking about the air conditioner again! He said the comforter (not thick at all mind you) is too heavy and he likes to just sleep with a sheet like back home. Well, I like to sleep cold as a polar bear under the comforter. So we compromised and turned the air down to 78-79. I get up this morning sweating like I'd been running on the tread mill in my dreams. It turns out while I'm asleep Dwayne turned the air down to 85! WTH. That is heat inna di heat!

VETS, I need some advise on the cooking and introduction to American food. What did your husband's like when they first came over? I've tried meatloaf and spagetti, my fish was too garlicy, and an omelet for breakfast. He has cooked every other meal for us traditional Jamaican. I'm not complaining but there is only so much boiled dumplings and rice and peas meals I can take. I want to add variety to the menu.

Girl, I have to tell you that I am dreading when Mike comes up. He is vegetarian and only eats fish for a protein source. I love me some meat and I know it is going to be a challenge for me to fix his meals. He keeps telling me that he will cook for himself and I say yeah, for how long. You know how they get. But anyway, like someone says you could make a pot roast or make some pork chops. All this can be done in the oven. Baked chicken with maccaroni and cheese. You are going to have to experiment and have him tell you what he likes. Good luck

I too have been thinking about when Steve gets his approval and gets here. He said, no eggs, beef, pork, etc. Something about being Rasta. He will only eat fish and chicken. I don't eat fish at all, hate it! And my kids will hate me if I only cook chicken. Only so much chicken one person can take, ya know?

To the person who wrote this yesterday...........

I have seen especially one person who seem to be an expert on here and VJ and the way that individual speaks it is as if that person lived in Ja all they lives.....they even know more gossip about Ja and the Jamaican people more than what that person know about their own small town in the good ole US of A????

If you are on here only to cause trouble, put your notebook filled with all the ponderances I have uttered down and GTF off. You are here, there and everywhere to just cause trouble. It's also kind of creepy that you keep following me around. I'm married so move along!

OKAY......since I'm all hyped up already. JG ... maybe this person is IN LOVE with you. Damn I thought I was the only one with a stalker. Who by the way in one of her e-mails told me I should have lost 80lbs before wearing my wedding dress...I was going to be nice and not say nothing...but since I'm BEX and BEX bad dis mawnin

GUH LI DUNG UNDAH U MUMAH BUMBOHOLE

I don't get it. If I block your e-mail address your just create a new one. What is your OBSESSION with me? Do you know me? One more thing, you wanted to know if the reason I filed for my man is because he's good in bed...BIATCHHHHHHHH keep on wondering. How dear you think that most of the women on here went to Jamaica for a good ROMP in the sack...your words my dear. So, keep on wondering...fiyah inah u bloodclaat eye.

OMG! This is terrible.

Fried chicken, broccoli, mash potatoes

Roxcie

Thanks Rox!

Do you add anything to the broccoli like cheese. I tried broccoli in the omelet and he picked them out. I love a good vegetable omelet!

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

roast beef with some potatoes

JaLove and JG my mouth is watering. I will shop for ingredients tonight.

The good thing is he has been willing to taste everything and will cook for us. The bad is me standing over a hot stove sweating out my perm for him to eat 3-4 bites.

Clairen I’m right there with you! We had many conversations about his adjusting to different food taste when he came home. However, once you are living it each day it becomes apparent that his taste as well as my own need to change.

Good morning ladies,

I am trying to muster up the strength to write this as it is a very difficult thing to admit to anyone let alone myself. Whatever was left of my relationship after my SO had a huge fallout two months ago is completely done. We are through and it seems he doesn't want anything to do with my baby either. There isn't much left to say other than I am devastated, I thought there might be a chance that we could work things out.

In any case, my question is since my petition is still at VSC and has not been approved yet, is there anything I should do to cancel it, or should I just let it run its course and let it expire after it is approved (if its ever approved)?

I was reading a previous post where someone mentioned that maybe these delays happen for a reason, like God is trying to tell you something and I guess in my case it seems to be that way. It has been almost 4 1/2 months since I applied and no approval nor an RFE, so I guess maybe God is trying to tell me something.

Michelle

Oh Michelle I'm so so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine what you must be going through. Best wishes and prayers go out to you and your little one.

I knew that question would come as soon as I hit "post reply". We have just not really spoke about what it means to him to be "rasta." He said "I am a rasta boy" about why he doesn't eat those things. Many guys claim to "rasta" but still yet and all they do not practice it. We have not been dating long, I will admit it. No judgements PPPPLLLLLLLEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEEE! I have heard enough from firends and just don't want to hear anymore. I know what I feel, and I know what I want! You know?

Michelle

Michelle, I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to you :( and wish you all the best that life has to offer. He is the loser for not wanting anything to do with your baby but you will be blessed by her birth and I am sure she will make you happy. Much love and happiness to you (L)

Thank you.

:crying: Mommy im so sorry to hear that .... i will never understand how a man can go from loving you to all of a sudden nothing???

Be strong,( which i know is easier said than done) but think about the baby, and dont stress. Just put it in God's hands and ask him to lead you and direct your paths. It's gonna be ok, i will pray for you, cause i know what your going thru.

I was pregnant with my second child when me and my ex fell out, i was so stressed,i lost weight during the pregnancy, if that is possible, i drove myself to the hospital in labor, and when i got there they kept asking where is the father, should we call him.... I kept telling them nurses F- HIM, i dont need him here to do what i need to do, so i delivered by myself, my mom was watching my oldest who was 5 at the time, what im saying is sometimes we women dont know how strong we are, and when things seem they are falling apart around us, we have to dig deep within ourselves and find strength, sometimes strength we didnt know we had, so you keep your head up, you have your VJ sisters around you for support. And whenever your having a bad day, you dig deep, do it for you and for your baby.

Honey, that is some story, I hope to be that strong.. but its hard.. :(

Mommy2b, I am so sorry to hear that - I will PM you with more info - Just stay strong and hold the belief that everything does happen for a reason, and your baby is a gift - you will make it through this, as hard as it seems now - been there, done it - you will survive.

Ok, thanks.

Mommy...my friends think im a little nuts at times, especially when i get in one of my moods, but i was so emotionally tired of dealing, that when i went into labor, i was damned and determined i wasnt calling him... so i timed them, they were 15 minutes apart, the hospital was 15 minutes away, i waited till my contraction passed and hopped in the car, made it to the hospital, had another contraction, waited a few, waddled into the hospital and went from there...LOL. You will get thru this, not saying that you will stop loving him and of course you will have hard days, but your baby is a blessing and she will help you to get thru those days, everytime you look into her face.

Honey is so right. He is going to miss you and your precious babies lives. One day he will wake up and it will hit him.

Lady;

I felt the same way. What a wonderful feeling. Scared me a little a first.

Update of my cousin's EX "INDIAN"

Now, that he has a lifetime ban from entering the U.S. He has a woman from England filing for him now...what a joke. I so want to post his picture everwhere, but I'd have to ask my cousin for it again.

Daymn....he's determined!

What di Rass!!

Sry to butt in but!!! My ex hubby is a rasta and devout vegan <so are our children :) But I love MEAT!>and there are alot of thing to prepare besides Fish and Chicken. Home made pizzas, w/ artichokes <most time if prepared correctly they will have the consistency of meat with no bitter taste> Try different types of rices basmati, jasmine <add strawberrys and a little garlic serve w/ garlic crusted broiledfish on top> try adding broccoli and cheese to the rice some times when you serve fish! There is an ocean of fish. Try a good variety. Limit your self to only preparing fish 2x a week.

Also consider Pasta Dinners <homemade of course, make a meat of your choice for you and the kids, add tuna to the pasta for him). If you want more indepth recipes pm me and I will send you a few. Its going to take a while for him to change his eating <and food preparation habits> but at least if you make different varieties he will be "winged" off or at least opened to something new.

Try Gyros, Fish Burritos, make a community side dishes for your kids and your self and make fish and chicken for him. Eventually he will try what you all are eating.

I don't see how we could judge you. Your life your decisions. Same as with our family and friends. Some times we have to dive off the cliff of life. I would say you should use this filing time to ask questions and then ask more questions. I found a book of questions to see if you are ready for marriage and I would send 10 at a time to Dwayne to see how we cope with situations. Start somewhere with getting all if not most of your very important stuff talked through before he uproots his life to come to the States. We sometimes forget just how big a step this is for them and us.

Last night Dwayne was talking to friends on the phone and I sweare he looked like a kid in a candy store. Marching around the kitchen talking patois all fast. I just kept thinking man he made a big move to leave them and for that I treasure him for life.

OMG I wish you luck with the Rasta life style. I'm sure he will cook for you guys but like you said the kids have to be pleased also. It looks like there may be two meals prepared at your home. I guess if you think about it it's no different than when one person is on a diet or has medical needs requiring them to eat or not eat certain foods. We do what we have to do huh

I'm PMing I'm PMing. I need recipes lol

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Intimacy....In/to/me/see...
