Ya'll remember the BAMBOO earings...you know mine had to be HUGE since my name had 9 letters.haaaaaa

BAMBOO earrings and my TRAVEL FOX shoes (they were never separated) oh, yeah and my batty ridah how could I forget those...wait mi figet bout di cat suit tuh

Lawny I love you -

I had a huge difference in my upbringing, lol - Yuppy preppy - think Pretty In Pink, the snooty kids with the popped collars and Izods!

haha  , wait whats an Izod! I always thought kids like that only existed on tv.

We have an Izod store in a mall here. I always walk by and shake my head.

I used to wear 2 Izods with both collars popped up when I was a kid. I hope mom lost all those pictures.

haha  , wait whats an Izod! I always thought kids like that only existed on tv.

LOL - No, come to where I grew up - Think of any stereotypical movie from the 80s - Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, etc.... There's my high school - and still a lot of people that I grew up with - It's funny, I had a reunion a few years back with people I worked with growing up - we were all camp counselors together - My two best friends and I walked in with our SOs at the time, and you coulda heard a pin drop = T's a lesbian, J's gay, and I was dating a guy with dreads that he could sit on

Ha..............

The Breakfast Club is used in some new commercial I've been seeing.

Hey guys...don't mean to rain on everybody's parade, but I was reading back a few pages and a topic that is very real to me came up, and honestly, a lot of your answers have surprised me. The topic was what would you do if you were faced with a 3 year ban. I saw several folks say that they probably wouldn't do a LDR for 3 years...well...quite honestly, that puzzles me a bit. For this reason only: everyone up here is either wanting to marry or already married. We've all found people that we say we will pledge our love to forever. That we will stand by our SO's side in good times and bad, yadayadayada. I've definitely learned that life will definitely throw you curve balls, and no matter how well you plan your life and what kind of decisions you make, things may not always go as we would like. Does that mean that we abandon our dreams, our desires, what we believe to be ordained and blessed by God? In my opinion (and I stress, this is just my opinion), I would say I hope not. What happens when you'fre living together as man and wife and you go through a dfficult spell...as many marriages do...that can't be fixed in a month, or 2, or hell even 8? Do you leave, or do you fight for what you believe to be right and good? I feel so passionately about this because the 3 year ban was imposed upon us because my fiance (now my husband) admitted that he had smoked months earlier (his blood tests and drug tests came back clean). At that moment is seemed that our lives were over, and for a while, I'm not even going to lie, I felt like I wouldn't be able to do it. I went back and forth with what being in this relationship would mean from that moment foward, because the whole scope of it had changed. I made a deliberate, and prayerful decision to continue in this relationship because I truly believed that he was the man that God had created for me. And while I resented him for a long time, we eventually worked through it, and I promise you that I could not be happier. This time apart has truly given us time to grow as people and as a couple. We have truly had time to think about what it is we truly want from this each other, this relationship, for our lives. I think when we were doing the K1, we got swept up in everything that was going on==it occurred so quickly (6 months from start to finish). We married nearly a year later. Now, our time for re-filing will be coming up soon. And we are much more focused, and more prepared. I believe that God definitely had a plan for us, and trust me when I say that as a result of what happened to us, I definitely had to learn that I would learn to follow HIS plan--not my own. We have put everything in God's hands, and I believe that we will be blessed this time around. I originally considered moving down to JA after the denial first occurred, but after talking over everything and trying to plan for our future we decided that it would be better if I stayed here. So, we do our best, like everyone else, to make the most of our visits and phone calls. We're hopeful about our future, and we appreciate and feel so much better about one another as spouses. I pray that no one ever has to experience what we had to---but if it came to the worse, I hope that you all would not abandon the ones that you love so dearly because things did not occur as we hoped they would. I know this was a long post guys, but I had to speak what was on my heart. Everyone up here has given me so much strength and encouragement, whether you know it or not...that's why I have continued to come back. Now, I want 2 enjoy all of these videos, so talk to you soon!

Love you,

Tamisha

My love for him would not have left me. But, the money available to visit or even call would've run out long before the 3 year ban. I've met a handful of men I have loved in my lifetime and still hold fond memories for; but it doesn't mean I could live with them. Sometimes life just is what it is.

Mrs P,

I asked D, when was the last time he smoked he said a couple of months ago... so what are the options, tell the truth and face a ban, or lie and hope the tests comes up negative???

Im really sorry you had to go thru that, I can honestly say i am happier than i have been in a long time, would i be able to afford to go back and forth to JA for 3 years, i dont know, would i stop loving the man i met over something stupid, NAH...it aint that easy to get rid of me, it is a hard decision and a difficult one at best,i would definitely have to pray on that one and ask god to lead me and give me a discerning spirit.

If he's telling the truth, I would just take the test. He will be fine.

If he's lying, by the time you get the results, it will be too late.

Hate to say it...but the best option would be for him to STOP smoking NOW...and LIE LIE LIE!!!! But most importantly, he should STOP smoking now...avoid the trouble...

My girl Journee...LDR= Long Distance Relationship

Never ever ever admit to smoking, no matter how many days, weeks, months, or years has gone by since he/she last smoked.

I cannot agree and emphasize this enough!

something bought beenie man, just make me think his thang is probably dragging the ground...LMAO

sorry yall....mind is in the gutter right now...lol

I have a reliable source that says its not - sorry to burst your bubble, but he would burst it with a tiny pin #######

Please do not trust that stuff one bit.

AWWW SUS, dont spoil mi beenie man fantasies....LOL

Mrs. P....dont they have the stuff in here to clean out the system in JA as they do so readily in the states????? Im telling you im going to set up a booth outside the embassy and make a killing....LOL ( just kidding)

Good mawnin ladies,

Jg....it's gonna be ok, the day will get better. i do all my swearing at night, when the teenagers start calling ror my son and im deep in the throws of falling asleep. I hollered at some poor gyal so bad the other night, i felt bad afterwards, but she called at 12:06, im like #######???? dont you know people have to get up and go to work in the morning child!!!! and my goofy a$$ son isnt going to be sitting up on the phone all night anyway, whatever y'all need to talk about better occur before 9 pm!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good day

Jg, what is the name of that place you buy your tea from, that caramel apple pistachio blend sounded good, only thing i have never brewed loose leaf tea, do they sell it in tea bag form???

Teavana. It is the bomb.

No. They sell only loose. They do sell some sort of earth friendly bags you can fill to make cups and some for pots. And, they sell strainers with teeny little openings so the tea doesn't go through.

I am hooked. It's crack, I tell you. I'll never go back to cheap tea.

If you find on in your city, Honey, they are really knowledgable about the teas. And, you can taste test them. Have them make you a apple pie pistachio tea mixed with the carmel (something like that), heavy sugar (it's African rock sugar), iced, no honey. It is orgasim in a cup!

I so agree JG, Caribbean Breeze is my latest fav. But they have tons to chose from. Honey there is one at 12 Oaks mall if you are ever near me in Novi :star:

I bought some of the banana roobios too. The one on clearance....discontinued. That stuff is good too. Might buy some more of it before it's all gone.

JG, Have you ever heard of this place? OMG, the best oatmeal cookies ever. I use to eat them when I was a kid and as an adult I thought the company went under years ago. Come to find out their still in business. I ordered cookies a few months ago and yep, they still taste the same. lol

When I was a kid we would get to eat them during "coffe hour" after Church. If you weren't good in Church, you didn't get to eat a cookie. I was an :innocent:

To the person who wrote this yesterday...........

I have seen especially one person who seem to be an expert on here and VJ and the way that individual speaks it is as if that person lived in Ja all they lives.....they even know more gossip about Ja and the Jamaican people more than what that person know about their own small town in the good ole US of A????

If you are on here only to cause trouble, put your notebook filled with all the ponderances I have uttered down and GTF off. You are here, there and everywhere to just cause trouble. It's also kind of creepy that you keep following me around. I'm married so move along!

Honeychild, I am so sorry I missed the party last night. It seems you got it started and your picks of music was great. I spent hous last night looking at the youtube sites that you'll had picked. The Africian Queen song is our song as well. That song was playing at a function, when Joe and I first met.

Maybe we can have a part II, and we should as Sunny suggest start a new thread for that. Songs and pictures to keep the memories fresh.

Lawny, yuh up early, eehhh. Whey Marcel deh fe hole yuh dong inna de bed. lol

I went to bed real late last night and just can't sleep. I have to work tonight and mymind is roving all over the place. I need to sleep or else I am going to be a wreck tonight...help...

Morning Claire;

Actually, I haven't been to sleep at all. My son's dad took him from my sister yesterday while my son was in the park playing with his cousins and refused to bring him back until the police tracked him down this morning and told him to hand him over or get LOCKED up. Girl, I'm so sick of this and everything else. I just want to curl up in a fetal position and sleep for a few days. My brain is beyond tired. I'm an emotional train WRECK right now. I know all I can do is pray and ask for strength and guidance...but I feel so weak right now.

Girl, what the heck is going on in your life??? You are being hit from left, right, front and center. A black cloud is hovering over you right now but the "sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun" Me singing in a high pitched voice..:lol: Just trying to cheer you up right now because my hands feel tied. I don't know what to say to help you feel better. Just when you thought you have hit the jackpot by marrying your best friend, the devil comes along and wreck havoc in your life.

I hope you took a couple days off from work to deal with all these adversities that you are being faced with right now. You don't need to have to deal with your insensitive co-workers. You know we all have you in our thoughts and prayers. (L)(F)

Thanks Claire;

I'm going to try and eat something then go for a walk. I haven't eaten in two days and it's starting to show. When I eat my stomach gets upset.

So is it time for a restraining order yet???? does he have any idea of the stress he put u thru yesterday...how does Marcel deal with his antics....cause it's hard for them when they see us going thru stuff...
