They sell Redstripe here at Albertsons, and Kroeger, and Food for Less. Its about $7 for a 6 pack. But its usually on sale. I just made a Red Stripe chicken this weekend in my crock pot. It was soooo good. I wish I could share it with you guys.

That sounds rocking yummy Lita! I love to cook in the crock pot, especially in the winter.

Hey Everyone~

Hope you all had a good weekend....I think I sweated 5lbs off. Can it get any hotter? On Friday I went to see Boys II Men at a FREE outside concert and I think it was hotter at night then it was during the day. They were awesome though!

Tre you and Marcel are in my prayers, hope it all works out so he can go back down for the funeral. (F)

Where was that? Riverport?

No, it cannot get any hotter. When my car outside temp guage says 107, I don't even want to open the door. I was just out at lunch and it was like a sauna.

Well, kids, Andre just got pulled over by the cops on his way to work. He was freaking out. They said they ran our plates and they expired in November. That is plain wrong cause I know I paid for 2 year plates in November of 2007. Dammit.....always someting. Now I have to go look up that old paperwork. Luckily, they did not ticket him. I bet he peed his pants!

It was downtown at that Live of the Leevy thing that they do every summer. And let me tell you with how hot it was out that night, like 95 and VERY humid, they were in their suits dancing and moving around! They finally took off their jackets but still had long sleeve dress shirts on. There would be no way I could have danced in what they had on.

I would have loved to see the look on Andre's face. Glad they didn't give him a ticket ...last year I TRIED to use that as an excuse when I got pulled over, saying that I thought I bought the 2 year plates, damn LADUE cop still gave me a ticket. Guess that is why they have such a nice police station....

I know I paid for 2 year plates. And, on top of that, it was just last year in November, so if I made a mistake and only paid for 1 year, they still aren't expired. I remember cause I had to go to that stupid emissions testing station on Kingshighway....right before they stopped all that stupid testing there. Dang it anyhow. I do not want to have to go up to the office and yell at someone tomorrow.

I forgot about the levee. They moved it up higher right? Cause of the water? Or is it down again?

We go to Riverport in September. That's the soonest I want to be outside for a long period of time anymore.

sus, sorry about the rough road w/ D, sometimes the hard times help ground me and I look back and smile, cuz it makes the fantasy of the LDR feel that much more REAL. Sometimes things can be going so well, its like "COULD this be all a dream or God forbid a lie??" Esp since u don't have to "BE" w/ that person everyday so sometimes a reality check is in order. The disagreement, or confusion or misunderstanding reaffirms that we are REAL and just like any old couple that have to deal w/ problems. But i know its still frustrating all the same so be blessed and encouraged..

Thanks for that - Unfortunately, this problem is his and I am kinda in limbo until I hear from him - It's not a problem between us, just a situation of his - That could become a big problem between us.

I know what you mean about the hard times grounding you - I had this conversation with a friend a while back, and she was wondering how it could be real when you are so far apart - She didn't get that we fight just like normal couples, but the difference is that we really and truly talk out our problems - with the physical distance, you can't just kiss and make up - I think it makes the relationship stronger in that issues are truly resolved and hashed out instead of swept aside.

u are sooo right.. talking is the ONLY means of intimacy at times. I know I probably could not have had this kind of relationship w/ my ex..he is not a good communicator.. However I think even DURING the relationship u grow to be better communicators than u already were (if it is to last anyway) u learn to say what u mean and mean what u say, cuz u don't have your facial expressions or body language to make things more clear. You learn your mate sooo much more too.. RG and I both can tell from each other's tones what kind of day we are having or if the other is tired or annoyed. and we may even be trying to hide it, but it seeps out and they catch it

Like u say a lil smile, kiss and the universal "heal all" is not an option so u have to find some sort of resolution b4 u are able to move forward. RG and I have "agreed to disagree" so many times cuz we WANT to keep talking on the phone and we don't want the disagreement to be the cause for any wasted minutes.. Now this doesnt mean lets move on to something else cuz I am tired of talking to u about it..no it means talking it out, recognizing the others point of view.Once finding out its not a winning battle but also not a deal breaker, then moving on.. I don't know if I am successfully describing the difference, but those of u that have it know there is a MAJOR difference . Its so refreshing to be w/ someone that can do this...

We just survived a brutal week here and looking forward to another of the same.....Upper 90's with the humidity throwing the heat index at around 110 or so. They issued a heat warning for today. Any of those 70's you want to throw this way would be just great. Otherwise, I'm with the praying for fall comment.

Well, it still amazes me that when you get pulled over in JA, you can just get out the car and reason with the police. LMAO Then you give them a few dollars and your on your way..... I told Ray that will be totally different when he comes to the states. I told him you don't get out when your pulled over by the police here, you actually get yaked out the car and thrown on the ground.

So true Sunny! We got pulled over for speeding in Kingston (I was NOT driving  ) and when A's friend (driving) got out my eyes bugged out. I said where's he going, why's he getting out --bullets are going to fly. You get out of your car here the guns get drawn. And he came back and said for x dollars, they will forget the whole thing. What rass....

They moved it up higher and left it that way for the summer even thought the river went back down. It was in the Market/Tucker area.

And yes some 70's would be feeling great right about now.

What I love best is that this continues to this day. We sit on the double rocker on our deck and chat the nights away. I love this most about our relationship. We don't always agree though.

I have to say this too cause it fits into the same vein of this post......I hate that people think we are weak and being used in our LDR's. They have no idea how strong we really must be to even survive the LDR at all.

ME and D, just had this one and the same convo on Saturday, with a minor disagreement that we had. When we first decided that we wanted to be serious, we made the promise to each other that no matter what, we would talk out and tell one another what was bothering us, that way we werent just dealing with the surface issues. I have never been able to communicate with someone( man) on the level that i talk to D, primarily because we are making an effort to get to the root of the problem. So im in agreement with you and quana both, i think being in a LDR means you have to work harder, to make it work.

Hey Ladies;

I had an INFOPass appt for tomorrow, but the lady (not the smart A$$ one) was kind enough to call me back and give me the information I needed and said not to bother to come in. Since I filed AOS on Friday 8/1 (of course nothing is in their system). They can't do anything until USCIS has our file in their system and only God knows how long that's going to take. Then'll they expedite the AP (travel document). She also said that if I had filed for a week or so ago it may have been in the system and I would have had the AP by Thursday. They can't do anything until AOS is in the system. USCIS will then note in their system that he has permission along with the AP to re-enter the U.S.

My only other option is to have him leave and file a petition for a family visa and ya'll know how long that would take.

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Don't you dare do the latter. I know where you work....I will hunt you down and slap you for that.

Hang in there. You know funerals don't move that swiftly in JA. You have some time. It will not take long for them to get it in the system and you to move along then. In the meantime, stay on them in JA and get that death certificate.
