So so so sorry to hear this!!!!

Unfortunately, the answer is no, unless she had already filed the AOS papers.

The ONLY possible way I could see it happening is if she found someone who would let her hand file the AOS papers and then expedite....

Cannot see it happening any other way :(

Hey Guys,

I got some very sad news from Lawny today.

Marcel's Mom passed away eithr yesterday or today. She is trying to find out if there is ANYWAY possible for him to go home to JA to attend the funeral and not have to go through the initial process of having to file a K3 or IR/CR again!

Bwoy, I really feel it for them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep them in your prayers today and going forward. If anyone knows of any route they may be able to go please post and let her know.

I told her to call the 202# tomorrow and if that does not work the Dept. of Homeland Security or/and the State Dept. Someone has to have a heart to at least hear her out!

I know we all believe in the power of prayer...and I know we all know ANYTHING & EVERYTHING is possible through the Lord. So please keep Lawny & Marcel in your thoughts and prayers.

Blessed love,

Gill

JaEnglish, how does it feel to be back in the work force. Soon you will be missing those days inwhich you could just take a nap at 12:00 pm if you wanted. Or go to the store in the middle of the day when noone else was there. But its nothing like making your own spending money $$$$$. Good luck on your new jobs,

Be Bless

Thanks Roxcie, i will check it out. By the way, in case anyone is bored like me... there is a piece on Dateline right now about US Immigration. It is showing various POE's and how they determine who is staying and who is getting a 5 year ban. They just showed a ghanian with a fake greencard and a mexican who has entered illegally on a visitor visa one time before. It is amazing before i met D, i never gave a thought to issues concerning immigration, but now all i can think about is wanting him here with me and how much shyt we have to go thru. Im not sure what the different time zones are, but it has been on about 30 minutes on my end, in case anyone wants to check it out.

Lawny,

You are really going through tough times. It seems like all hell is breaking loose. Drama at work, ex acting up & now your mother-in-law's death. Know that we are here for you. On May 20th, I had a miscarriage. I bled every day for two weeks. After the second emergency room visit, June 3rd- I was admitted. My father passed away on June 28th. His ###### of a wife never told my sister & I that my Dad was dying. I spoke to my father less than a week before he died. He said that he felt fine. I know what it feels like to lose a parent. I tried to keep active thinking that my grief would go away.

Allow your husband to have his time. If he doesn't want to talk, allow him space. With all that you guys have been through, this has to be FOREVER. Since funerals don't occur as quickly as it does in America, I feel like you have time to get Marcel's AP expedited. Please let me know if there is any thing that I can do to help.

Take care,

Kelia

Mi cyaan sleep and dere's noone here fi chat...wha mi ago do?:wacko: I'm sitting here trying 2 decide on what 2 do for our 1st anniversary. I talked to my husband 2day and he doesn't care what we do as long as it doesn't involve us being bothered by friends and family. Although I'm not all that crazy about Mobay I was thinking of just hiding out there for a few days. I was looking at some of the hotels there. Any suggestions? I was considering El Greco, but I don't know anything about it. The only other place we've stayed in is Toby's, but we can't cook there, and I'm looking for a place that less touristy where we can cook...God willing we will be spending our next annivesary stateside

My husband and I have stayed at El Greco many times. It is not upscale, but all rooms have kitchens. The hotel is adjacent to a tunnel that connects to the Hip Strip. All guests get free breakfast (Jamaican or American) as well as passes to Doctor's Cave Beach. If you decide to stay there, have your husband make the reservation in his name. As long as he has Jamaican ID, the hotel will give him a local rate. Otherwise, tourists are charged more. El Greco also has a small pool if you don't feel like leaving the compound. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Mrs. Scott...if he reserves the hotel in his name, does he have to have the money upfront? He doesn't have a credit card to hold it. Also, is there a grocery store nearby? I've been into the actual town only once, so I'm not sure how far away grocery shopping is. Thanks for your help.

Your husband does not need a credit card to make a reservation. To book the room, have him call El Greco directly (940-6116). There is a small grocery store right by the tunnel leading to the Hip Strip. From the Hip Strip, you can take a taxi downtown. The fare is $50 JMD each way. The convenience stores on the Strip are pricey. If you want a personal driver, PM me. I have two good taxi driver brethrens.

Sorry to hear about all of what you've been through Kelia.... I also know what it feels like to loose a parent. I lost my father on New Years Day 1995. He was 47... I met Ray on my dad's birthday so I hope he's a blessing to me.

Honey, I watched the DateLine speacial aswell, now I know why custom is so hard on me when I travel to JA by myself. When my sister-in-law and I traveled together, Custom was alot friendlier. So the next time I wont be so angry at them when they act like jerks. That was an intrested piece.

The piece I wanted you to read in the Saharan thread is by Imnop123 and Asante Maroon on that page. They both wrote a good post.

Everybody has their opinions and that is fine. We are all not going to agree on everything, but it seems as if when people have a differing view from others people really take it to another level. Sometimes the war'in you see has nothing to do with the topic but some personal beef that people have from some other thread wayyyy back in the day.

When people ask for help and they clearly tell you they don't want to discuss a particular aspect of that situation, you have to respect.

On the other hand its like you can't even express your views with out being attacked on some next ting.

There are so many people who have either stayed away from VJ or just lurks around and don't comment due to potential drama. It's messed up...but hey it reflects the world we live in today

I agree it was very nice after reading most of the other posts in that thread.

Thank you :)
