D is so used to being on the go, hopping in a cab, working day in and day out, till i think he is going to be in for a BIG shock when he gets here. He is talking about bartending here, im like Babe, bartending isnt going to pay the bills, so you might want to reconsider...LOL

We had that discussion too. The only thing I was concerned about was health insurance as it is cheaper for him to have his own through work then for me to put him on mine here. There was only one bartending job that offered that here and it was at a swanky hotel. He had a 2nd interview; but in the end did not get it.

We have discussed him bartending part-time as a second job and that I am fine with. It's just that any full-time job has got to have some benefits.

It does up here - Bartenders make as much money on the weekend as I do working all damn week! Just have to take the course put out by the state so you know the rules of drunkeness.

SYSTEM generates a date?????????? That's not how it works with K-1 to my understanding. Before my brother's friend got his date 8/19 he was told that the system was down several times. Then on a latter e-mail they told him the person that sets the appts has booked all the non-immigrants slots for July. So, which is it?

That is soo true QuANA, i only have a few friends, well hell maybe only one or two, who understand me and D's relationship. The other day me and him had a little argument and i was talking to my friend about it, she is gonna say " how you going to have an argument with someone in Jamaica?" like i havent been telling her for months, that i am involved, she also made reference to our relationship being a " fling", and me and her are close, so that kind of hurts. No matter what people cant and wont understand, what we go thru and they think we are crazy. But the really killing part of her comments is that her boyfriend of 5 years, has been in and out of jail, is missing a tooth in the front and has a crack problem...LOL... i hate to talk bad about her, because when she met him and i have known him for 18 years, he was my Ex's best friend, he was fine, but somehow got caught up in the allure of recreationally getting high and now is Pookie. So if all i have to deal with is a few trips to JA every couple of months until we are together as opposed to D, getting clean, falling off the wagon, going to rehab, stealing ####### out of the house for drugs and loosing more teeth, the more drugs he does, then i will take my Jamaican man anyday.

You crazy. You know that's why he was following me around the hotel for 3 days before he could talk to me. He tried the first day, but I quickly brushed him off. Didn't know he was admiring me the rest of the time. Jawi, he's my soulmate. We've had little arguments (about him moving my things around), but all he has to do is smile at me and I'm not mad anymore. During our ceremony he smiled the entire time. His eyes never left mine. It was short, but absolutely beautiful. I think if I had a big wedding I would not have remember all the tiny details (that means so much later on in life).

Good luck! My sister-in-law LOVES Ross in South Carolina. The best I have up here like it is TJ Maxx. But why do you need suits if you are working from home??

I bought my husband up here Feb 08, thinking what we really had was a marriage. Come to find out that we really didnt. Once he located his family and established relationships he moved a couple states away. What can I do, could i send him back? I discovered that he neither his family care for americans and thought all types of things of me. I feel horrible. I bought him up here, and has supported him since because he still hasnt worked.
