JG I need a good laugh so if you can, will you tell us the emergency room story? I just re-read your post and you said less comical story....sorry but I would love to hear it anyways.

I am still laughing about him putting his leg up on the wall. He probably thought he was really doing something.

Luckily, there hasn't been an emergency room story that I had to make up yet. I've had to take him to the emergency room twice already.....once for a sickle cell episode and once cause a fence post feel on him and broke his nose.

But, not for lack of trying.........he set his shirt on fire at work.....he had a fence fall at him a few weeks ago. As he tells the story, he was running down the hill, away from it and yelling hey, hey, hey like it was some dog biting at his heels. He cuts the grass barefoot. He walked into a sliding glass door that was apparently a little too clean......He got a staple lodged up under his fingernail so far we had to really cut a chunk of nail off to get to it...the list goes on and on.

Wakey,

My friend just emailed me to say she joined my gym last night. I'm so excited now I will have a workout partner. That gives me more motivation and someone to push me. Although my SO feels I don't need to loose anything, I feel otherwise. I'm on a mission to drop a few lbs and tone up over the next few months. Especially since I made some chocolate fudge brownies the other night and I've been eating off them the past few days trying to satisfy my chocolate craving. I feel guilty...I have to really push myself to workout...Its like a chore for me, not fun....

I agree with the picking part, Island. But, if I have to weigh my wants with them crabbing all weekend, I will probably give in on this one. I'll pick a bigger battle to win!

Besides, a big tub of popcorn oozing with butter and I could sit through just about anything. There just isnt' anything like movie popcorn (or ballpark nachos)!

I hope the refi at least gives you lower payments somewhere, Island.

You have a Kayak? I was looking at them in the LLBean catalog this weekend and thinking I want one. Not that I have a place to row it; but still, sometimes you just want something cause you do.

My kayak a.k.a my therapist! I have had it for about 8 years and it has gotten me through plenty of troubles. I was loading my stuff last night while on the phone with A and when he asked what I was doing I told him and he says "what's troubling your mind babes??" I just busted a laugh cuz he knows when I kayaking I'm in therapy - LOL!!

If you even have a small pond or slow moving river it's awesome! That's the bush living, no damn public transportation but tons of water!!

Nothing good coming from the refi - it was just a spinoff from my first refi from my divorce. But at least I won't ever have to do it again..unless they drop the rates to like 2%!!!

yeah dillon.. he got all intimidated when his wifey chat bout dis BARISHNOKOV and his fancy pants flexibility, him sey "whateva him can do, I can do betta..WATCH ME"

JG it was a demonstration of his love :rofl::rofl:

If it gets him to the ballet, I am fine with him acting all crazy. I have been trying for 2 years to get him to at least see one ballet. I'm not a huge fan; but I think it can be some pretty awesome stuff from time to time. I just want him to try a little of everything. He can pick and choose what he likes after that. So far, even though hesistant on some things, he's found the world has a lot more to offer in the arts department then he ever imagined.

I go three times a week to the same class I've been going to for years now. We are a pretty close knit group and I love my friends in the class. I just hate the exercising part.

I, too, fell in love w/Jamaica way before I met Damien. Actually the trip I met him was suppose to be my last

We decided to go to JA for Independance Day instead of Sumfest. First year missing it in a few years. However, my friends went and had a blast. She's already planning for next year.

My friend from Canada went to Sumfest this year. I'm in the processing of reading her trip report on another thread. She had a blast.

My kids and I both fell in love with Jamaica before we met Andre.

I used to love Reggae Sunsplash back in the day...aka..Sumfest. Ken is on a mission to go back next year. I told him Sweets you going without me...I'll be in JA. but I am too old to sleep pon a "Sumfest bed"...aka a big pissa cardboard  watching a whole bunch of no-names ALL night ...waiting for the top acts to come on at 6 in the morning!!:no: Not to mention..."I can't take too much of the 'Badman' music anymore!!" It's makes me violent! :bonk::bonk::lol:

I much prefer Rebel Salute...the vibes are nicer and it is just continuous with good top name acts and there is no bottles..hence...no bokkle flinging when dem don't like a performer or tripping over a whole bunch of debris when you walk! Not to mention the venue is BEAUTIFUL...in the baisin of the St. Elizabeth mountains.

I was very impressed by Rebel Salute and would recommend it to anyone!

Gill

Well, since I live in the big city, I think I would get arrested for having my kayak in a pond. The only river I am really near is the Mississippi. You can die from the undercurrents in it around here. I could travel an hour or so south and hit a few nice rivers. I have a jeep with a rack thing on the top, so I do have a way to transport it. Damn it......now I want one!

One of the YMCA exercise class guys I know has one. He has some lake property and he paddles around.

awww....you never left us girl :)

Sooooooo..it looks like everytime I post anything any this forum the "close group of friends" ignore me. I think people either gel or they don't and for what ever reason I'm not in the jello mold.

I joined this site because I thought we all had something in common, loving a man or woman in Jamaica, and my sister Jawi told me everyone was cool people to lean on while I was going through the journey. In the beginning that was the case and now umm not so much.

I will continue to jump on the site for research purposes. I just wanted you to know if you see me lurking.

I thank everyone that has helped me with interview and paperwork details up to this point.

I pray for everyone's success that is going through and awaiting your interviews.

Take care Wakey!

WAKEY, I hope you have your PATWAH dictionary near you..

Morning everyone, I'm sorry for going off and stormimg out of the room like that. I may be very sensitive right now because I'm ready for Dwayne to be here and it's really rough financially for us right now. I think I transferred these feelings to you guys and that's not right.

In defense of my post, I was beginning to see that I would respond to a subject that everyone was discussing and responses back would addressed to the names before or after mine. It wasn't several pages back in the thread but right up front. However, I should have handled it better. Mi sorry fi offend anybadi. Dem hormones making me one evil Bi$%%.

TAKE ME BACK!!!! I've missed all of you guys :crying::wacko::blink::blush:

Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?

I started mine last night. We had apple martini's, dinner, and then ice cream for dessert.

I think I am busting out of here at around noon. Everyone is out at meetings all day. LOVE those kind of days. I want to go buy myself some caramel apple pistachio tea and I'm eyeing a giant Lucky Jeans Brand bag like Nancy Bottwin carries around in Weeds. I've been searching the internet all week to find the exact bag I want. Bet when I go to Macy's to find it, it won't be up to my expectations. We'll see. I am also eyeing those neon green Reboks.

My daughter and I are going school shopping for her (gasp! hiding bras and panties so no one else in the store can see us buying them---but not get arrested by security for shoplifting!) and we might all see a movie tomorrow. I want to see Mama Mia; but they are pushing for The Dark Knight.

There better be cake and presents sometime in there or someone dies in my house!

I thought about driving to visit my best friend this weekend but now with the car huffing and puffing it will be me the sofa and some ice cream. I had a slice of cake this week. I'm paying for it now at the gym..I'm trying to learn to love working out..but it's not there yet. I've lost 18lbs since starting this process in May..

Way to go Wakey!!

Sooo....I replied to an ad on Craigslist for a female photographer. Assumed was a woman wanting 'sexy' pics.

Turns out was a man wanting nude pics, I turned tail soooooooo fast

He offered $600 to take them but I told him my husband said HELL NO!
