AI is all inclusive....a resort. I suggest that for the first time you go all alone. You can always choose to leave the resort grounds. But, if not feeling safe or uncomfortable with the area, you can also choose to stay on grounds and still have lots to do.

I should know what AI means... Holy cow I work in the hotel business... Blonde moment.

I have been to Mobay for work and vacation etc, but I knew people. I will tell her to research Negril. I am afraid she will go back down to SLU and link up with the JackA$$ she met before.

Thanks all!

Oh! on another topic... I have a girlfriend that wants to take a vacation by herself over Christmas. She has been to SLU twice to visit me so I told her to try something new. What do you all think about sending her to Jamaica?

Peace & Blessings.... Irie

Lovely idea. I've been to Jamaica a handful of times all by myself. MoBay mostly.

I felt comfortable in both Ochi and Mobay by myself. Now Kingston, that was another story!! Even in New Kingston I had "tourist" blarring over my like a neon sign. Better to stick in an area that is mixed with touristy people.

AI means all inclusive...LOL

See i have never been to Negril, me and D are planning on it, but havent been yet. Now when i first started seeing D, my friends were like are you crazy, your going to travel to another country BY YOURSELF!!! i was like yeah, i dont see the big deal, no different to me than traveling anyplace else alone. They were all like were gonna pray for you, were so worried, blah blah blah, im like you guys need to chill, i know how to handle myself....LOL

Sounds like my family!! When I went in November I didn't tell them until the day I was driving to the airport. My brother screamed at me for 20 minutes and probably longer if I hadn't lost cell service, about being stupid, not knowing what I'm doing....why do I have to go all the way to Jamaica just to have sex, blah, blah. When I went in May, not a single person in my family (except my kids) knew I was giong!!! My friends, on the other hand were like "you go girl!!"

Hmm..I made it down and back with a not single scar - amazing. She'll be fine Irie!

Yah, but see.....you are talking about going to see someone there. It is a little different when you are going for the first time and not knowing a single soul. This is the main reason I suggest an AI on at least the first visit. You have better control on if you want to just hang inside and feel safe or if you want to attempt to go out. Going out can be a little scary for newbies. Once you know how to navigate without getting taken and where the good places to go are, you can always stay somewhere less constricting.

That was my poing JG, when i first went to JA, every time we stepped out the resort gates, we had people wanting to " show us" around, or take us to there shops or do we want to party...it was nonstop and got on my nerves, after awhile. Often our self appointed tour guides wanted tips and how obvious are you as a tourist when there is a group of women, following one guy around. It was a tad overwhelming, now i go where im going with a purpose when i leave from wherever im staying. This last trip, i went to island village alone, D was working and to a few shops, short of running across the street to keep from getting " mashed up"...lol... i was fine, not one person said a thing to me, and the ones that did, i ignored, or gave a slight smile and kept it moving. No problems whatsoever.

I agree JG. I was there for almost 2 days by myself before my SO made it to the Holiday Inn and it was great! They also shuttled a bus to the clubs for like $10 most nights so it was easy and safe getting around. And of course, anyone who works there is more than happy escort you for the night.

I have to laugh at that. Tre and I have been talking.....HI seems to have an unusually high rate of visas recently.

$10 really? A few years ago, it was free.

VENT alert!! And a bit of TMI

Yesterday, my MIL came and took the baby to church.

I fed him around 9-9.30am, she took him at 10.30am. Sent a bottle of water and a bottle of expressed milk. Church finishes at 2pm, she called me at 3.30pm to ask if I wanted her to bring over some dinner, which would take another hour. I was like fine.

She brought him back at 5.30pm.

He immediately wanted to nurse, drained both breasts.

After that, he nursed again in hour, and an hour after that. He went to sleep about 8pm, but must have woken up and nursed every hour throughout the night.

So this morning I asked her how much he had drunk when he was with her, because of how many times he had nurse during the night.

She said he had drunk NOTHING!!!!!!

In EIGHT hours, NO LIQUID??????????

He's TEN frigging months old, I would have a problem with my SEVEN YEAR OLD not drinking for a DAY!!

So I told her basically that it was not acceptable, he needed have been nursed.

She started going on about she didn't agree, any liquid would have done.

So I said, but he DIDN'T have ANY LIQUID at all!!

She said she tried him with the water and the milk, but he didn't take it, which is typical of him.

But in my opinion, SHE SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT HIM HOME THEN!!!!

Then she made a comment about him being almost 11 months old and still breastfeeding and then went on to say I did it for my own benefit!!!

I said PARDON ME??????

What BENEFIT is this??

Sore nipples??

Waking in the night to feed him??

Unable to go on a diet??

I was so angry I said to her that both me and her SON had decided that the baby was going to be breastfed until he was a year old and NOTHING was going to change that.

I also said to her that I could understand if she was going on about me feeding FORMULA to the baby but BREASTMILK????

So she said she was busy and hung up.

Am I wrong for being angry????

Morning yaardies! How is everyone's Monday? I have the day off, so me and Kingston (my cavalier puppy!) are chillin on the couch watching the Family Feud!!:lol: Anyway, I just wanted to get up here and just needed to profess to the world (again) how much I LOVE my husband!!! He has been going through a rough time lately, and as you all know it can be difficult to console someone & try to help them through things when you're not in the same place. I've done my very best to be very supportive of him and to him like always...well last night we were talking, and in the middle of our conversation he says, "T, you know the only reason that I feel getting up and going on is to hear your voice. No matter what I'm going through, just knowing that I can hear your voice each day gives me reason to live. I don't even have the right words to tell you how important you are to me and how much I love you. Everything that you do for me, even when you feel like its nothing or not enough, is more than I could ever have prayed for"....Ok, so then I start crying like a maniac because this man is the most amazing and selfless person that I have met. And then I thanked God for bringing us together...and then I cry some more, and then we continued to remember why we are together and what we are working towards. I don't know, it was just one of those moments that made me realize that everything that we are both going through is worth it, and that in the end, we will be blessed. Sorry for babbling, but my heart is still so full from last nite, I have to tell EVERYBODY!!

Blessings,

Tamisha
