Anyone know anything about student loans? I'm wondering if I can take out a larger student loan. I won't tech. be a grad student, but I'm trying to take undergrad and grad classes at the same time?

Hey Brownie...you can take out a supplemental loan...however. be careful who you use! Sallie Mae, Citibank are a few of the better ones...also find out what there interest rates is and deferment policy....meaning if you go back for grad school will it be deferred until graduation and how long is there grace period between graduation and start paying back (typically is should be 6 months).

Also, do they have a forebearance policy...in case you run into economic hardship? I typically tell my students ALWAYS go through US. Dept. of Ed FIRST!!! Then supplement with a REPUTABLE company!

When you go to Grad school you will ONLY have loans (unless you have an outside fellowship) and I beg you ONLY USE THE DEPT OF ED then!!! They will give you more than enough $$ annually (unless you are going for med. school or law school).

Gill, I wish you the best. Funny about the same flight. I was on a flight with Kip Rich and Elephant man in 2003. They talked the entire time (extremely LOUD). Don't forget Gill, that we'll be standing next to you in line. And oh, tell mi you see the INDIAN. He's been calling my cousin non-stop. She nevers answers the phone. She doesn't want to change the number until after Tuesday. She wants to hear what he has to say after he shows up in Kingston. You see it....It's been said that this thread is supposed to be a place where we give each other support. If you don't have anything positve to say why say it all...and why give an opinion based on nothing.....

That's just it, I DIDN"T say anything apart from those who ASKED....and as for positive, I did say to some who asked that I felt their relationship was sound....You are ASSUMING that I only had NEGATIVE things to say....As for giving an opinion based on nothing, it's my choice to provide it when ASKED

As for support, I believe that confirming someone's suspicions when asked is support, to reply 'stick with him everything's going to be ok' when in fact you believe the OPPOSITE is not support. It's hypocrisy.

I don't jump on people for their choices even if I think they are the wrong ones, I will offer prayers and best wishes.

I will ask a question which I think may lead someone to the conclusion I have reached, but if they refuse to see what's in front of them, I wouldn't push the issue.

If the issue is RIGHT in front of their eyes, I leave it alone, after all everyone here is GROWN.....

It seems you are missing my point. My comment is not about people and their choices and weather they see whats is front of them. It had more to do with this thread and the enviomrent and weather some choose to stay or leave based on the comments/ responses of others. You made the statement that someones man is leaving them or will be leaving them as soon as they get thier green card, and that there may be about three others...is the part that I and others took offense to. All I'm saying is if you can't support the enviorment...weather the advice is negative or positve..... again being as this is a place so many others say they come to for support why say anything at all. It's a shame so many people...who opionions who I do happen to value are leaving b/c people don't realize the value of thier words and how much they contribute to the life of this thread.

can i say i am just sick to my stomach.....yesterday i was watching Dr. Phil and on his show he was talking about registerd sex offenders.....and gave a web site to check it out to see who was liseted in your area....oh my goodness where i used to live so many listed....some considerd high risk a couple lived in either the same apt. complex OR in the area...so lived where i was thinking about moving to when i was looking for apt.....just makes me sick to my stomach cause not all of them were listed for underage assualt...a lot were listed with rape....just makes me nervous about bringing a little girl into the world....

Well, I have 4 weeks to go before I go home and I can't wait. He has no clue I'm coming, but his best friend does. That's who will pick me up at the airport. I'm still trying to figure out what his parents and family is up to. We shall see. I'm just homesick in the worse way. Now my ALLEGRIES are starting to kick in. I hope I make it through this year. Mawnin Nanny....girl I could have told you that. It don't matter where you live they're all over the place. I don't even bother to check any more. I just make sure I do my DAMN best to protect my son or ya'll will be see me on the 10 o'clock new from out of Washington D.C. I use to be a court report and the last trail I was recording made me sick to my stomach, I just couldn't do it anymore. I have 3 on my street alone, so trust me I understand your concerns fully. I'd have to kill somebody and that's not joke. I do not believe that they can be reabiltated (JMO). I guess you've never watch DATELINE...when they set them up and record it. Sick #$*)#($*-- and they want to protect them in prison so they don't get hurt. I don't get that. A man in the apartments where my brother lives was sentenced to 45 years in prison. My brother had made numerious complaints and nothing was done. This man was in his 50s, never worked, kids were grown, but he most of the kids in his apartment. He always had candy for the kids and such. My brother complained and nothing was done until a little girl came forward last year. She told her teacher what happened and they started to investigate and found out more kids were being molested boys and girl. That sick ()*#$. He was having the kids rub lotion all over his body and then (I can't even type it). The little girl that came forward was his GRAND niece. Lord help me.
