Anyone know of a better way to send money than western union? We send money to my husbands daughter regular. I was hoping there was a way she could open a bank account in JA and we could transfer money from our account to hers online or something....anyone know of a way like this?

I beleive Scotia Bank has this sort of feature where from there website you can put money into an account somehow. Or you could open a seperate account under your name in the States and give your daughter an ATM for it. She can pull the money out when you put it in there. Not sure what the fees are with this.

That works well, I know for me it has helped with the filing because Western Union and Moneygram fees are too expensive. The bank charges me $100 per transaction and then an international fee which is about $1-$2 depending on the amount.

This is what I did too. Opened an additional account a my local bank and left the ATM card there. My bank charges 1% of the amount drawn and then $1.25 per transaction fee for using a non-related atm. It saves BIG time in the WU fees.

Unruly Gal/Gill,

Its so funny on Wednesday morning he seemed to be doing everything he could possibly think of to prolong taking me to the airport. He fooled around so much that I even had time to make breakfast. Then once we finally leave the house he makes 50,000 stops. The bank, gas station, picking up friends along the road to give rides etc. When finally I had to say, "sweety you know I don't want to leave you and all, but if you make me miss this flight, we are going to have some problems..He then looks at me and says,,,"Okay, okay, okay!... Gill you remind me of him saying hush..He tells me that all the time.

Unruly, I think I've kind of mastered the not crying part now. Although it feels like I'm leaving my best friend or a part of me behind everytime I leave him..Its like a huge lump in stomach, almost makes me sick.

TY; that seems like yesterday. Every time I left Marcel in Jamaica the morning that I'm leaving we would go to beach for an early dip. I always check in early then go to "Dead End Beach" to eat and drink a little...but mostly to talk. We would just sit there and put our foreheads together. He would hold my head in his hands and tell me don't cry think about how exciting it will be to see me again. I was so blessed to be able to have him fly back with me. They gave him a farewell party and I've never seen so many grown men cry. His older male friends who have been married for many years gave us a little notebook with quotes in it that help to keep their relationship in check. I thought it was so sweet. It was different love stories of how they met their wives and how to keep the FIRE BURNING. I read through the entire notebook while waiting for our flight to leave on 4th of July. I'll have to admit, I do find that "our" -- Jamaican men are the best lovers and the little notebook they gave us back it up. At the end of his party they sprayed us with champagne and I was  because the night was early and I was still trying to look FLY  Oh well, then they sprayed us with whipcream...that was it I was ready to cut someone, but it was all in fun.

DIT-TO!!!! Oh, how I miss Dead End! :crying::crying: ...especially since they fixed up the bar now!

We keep telling ourselves..."we are going back soon...we are going back soon!!!" Hopefully for Rebel Salute 2009 :D

Bless,

Gill

Hey has anyone heard from Ms.Hellwig lately? She's MIA....

I was just thinking about her and Shrewdie too! She is still in JA right?

Oh I love the dead end!! I remember my first experience back in 1998 when our wild crazy professor took us to a dead end beach party. Good times indeed. This story is so sweet :luv::crying:

Hey has anyone heard from Ms.Hellwig lately? She's MIA....

I was just thinking about her and Shrewdie too! She is still in JA right?

OMG....I came on here to talk about Shredie. Yes, she is still in JA.

I think we need to start a daily prayer chain for her. I really want to hear that she has heard something positive on that visa when she gets back.

Last I heard, Shrewdie only had NOA1. That's what I was referring to.

She's not the only one waiting that long. There are some out there who have been waiting longer. VSC is a black hole.
