Hello,

Congrats on all the approvals, marriages and births. I have not been on VJ in months. I tried to catch up but it was too much!!!! Just stop in to say "hi". David and I are just enjoying our first year of living in the same country together. Time is moving so fast for me. I guess that is a sign of being really happy. I can not belive it has been a whole year since my case was completed and David has been in the USA for almost nine months. Sending blessing and wishes for a speedy process for everyone with a pending case. Take care!

Jenice

Hey guys;

Just popping in to say hello to all. Been really busy lately and have been real tired and not been able to log on. Had a trip to NYC this past week and drove down and that has taken a toll on me especially when I got home at midnight and couldn't fall asleep and had to work the next day. (the things we do to ourselves). Got in to work at 0630 am only to see the doc and his crew waiting to start an EGD on my patient before I even got change of shift report. I had to do conscious sedation and boy was I mad. I was tired and had to recover the patient. Anyway, I made iot through the day in one piece after I also had to admit an intubated nursing home patient that was over 300lbs who had no blood pressure and almost coded on me. But thank GOD that I have a job to complain about. I really love what I do but I was very tired yesterday and still feel somewhat loopy right now...lol

Congrats on all all the approvals and all the good news that we all have received this week. For all those waiting for an interview date, I hope you all get good news soon and that you will be reunited with your loved one sooner than later.

An update about Mike. He was approved for the visa on Thursday. He told me that he did not go inside because a lady was at the front collecting missing documents from people. She took his passport and sent him to pay airpak. So I guess he will be here soon (I hope).

Anyway, I gonna go back and catch on all I missed in the last 4 days. :D

Regional debt to be written off if Obama becomes president

Wednesday, 25 June 2008

Democratic candidate for President of the United States (US) Senator Barack Obama is promising 100% debt relief for the Caribbean if he becomes the next leader of the US.

Senator Obama's foreign policy advisor, Dan Restrepo told officials attending the Caribbean Tourism Organisation meeting in Washington DC that this is one of the policies to be pursued if Senator Obama is elected to office.

Mr. Restrepo also spoke about Mr. Obama's intention to facilitate trade between the US and Cuba.

He said the presidential candidate would personally lead direct diplomacy with Cuban officials.

According to Mr. Restrepo, Senator Obama understands the unique security challenges of the Caribbean and that the issue of trans-national crime is of great importance to the region.

As a result, he has promised to restore funding for drug control programmes, which were cut by the George W. Bush administration.

Did you get this from the Gleaner today? I can't click the link from this stupid home computer.

If you did read the story in today's Gleaner, did you notice how much of a small% this amount above actually is of the entire debt? Mind boggling.

Here is the link: http://www.radiojamaica.com/content/view/9372/88/

I'm confused...I read 100% debt relief. I took it to mean the entire debt would be taken care of.

Jaylyn is getting baptized tomorrow. My DH got freaked out about the dress. She will be the 8th generation to be baptized at our little church out on our farm. I am hoping she does O.K. she hates water. Then we have a reception for her at mom in dads in the burbs. We need to get to sleep early tonight I don't know if that is possible. Are schedule is so backwards. Last night we grilled jerk chicken and ribs so she is so messed up on time. I hope everyone else is having a great weekend! :star: 4 more weeks until she gets to meet her

Jamaican Grandma...

aaww that is soo neat!!! Take pics of her!! I think i am going to wait until fall to get Kaila baptized....

And here I was kinda sad to know there were so many Jamaicans around the DC/MD area and carnival only happens once a year....I didn't realise you don't have carnival in your states!

It was soooooooooooooo HOT yesterday!!

I had to end up leaving early because the baby was just too hot and it was too crowded......

Didn't get to take all the pics I wanted either :(

Would have loved to have got some of the floats, but my husband's best friend took 4 hours to get there lol, by the time she came, we were going home....

Makes me realise how much I miss being around Jamaicans :(
