Guys...do I need a waiver only if my B2 is expired?? just want to know because it's not expired until 2010...just curious!

No one can tell you if you need a waiver until you interview - At your interview, they will tell you what you need to do from there. The first step is to apply to adjust status, then go from there.

Morning, everyone!

Evening, all - I left work at noon today, went and got a spa pedicure, then came home and took a nap! I woke up and watched the Bucket List - incredibly sweet movie if you haven't seen it.

Congrats, Auntie Marlita, she's adorable! And I agree JAEng, the pics of your son just get cuter and cuter!

Gill, I agree with you about loving hearing the good stories - I am going to a baby shower next week for a friend who married a JA man on a K1 - they have been married 5 (I think) years, just bought a house, and this is their second child. She is a constant inspiration to me to have faith.

Welcome Army wife - I think you should be fine, as JAEng said - If your overstay was less than one year, then you should be able to adjust no problems - if it was greater than one year, you might have to file a waiver for the overstay - But I know people who have done similar and now have their green cards (not from JA).

Hope everyone has a good weekend - any plans?

I heard something about if the marriage was after more than 60 (or 90?) days in the country, the USCIS would automatically assume there was no intent to marry beforehand.....

I don't think she needs a waiver, I think those are for people abroad.....

I know she'll be just fine :)

Im located in Colorado Springs!!.....I'm not sure as I have yet to find one/friends out here!! just relocated from New York on Military orders....hubby in the army!

Wow, must be quite a change......I live in MD and it's so darn QUIET here!!

Good morning JaEnglish,

I know Charles County is quite, you need to come over her to Prince George's county for a little action. HA Ha. Yes, Maryland is quite, but we love it here. I made it out to the Carribbean market you referred me to and it was great. I'm stocking up on small things that would make my hubsand feel at home, so when he reaches here I will already have those things on hand. I'm also learning to cook some of the dishes from JA. Your little one is very handsome, he reminds me of my son when he was his age. They grow so fast, so enjoy him. I hope you have an ejoyable Saturday. You really should try going to the farmer market over at the National Harbor. It is really nice.

Roxcie, I have some recipes on this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1279762

Roxcie,

Where are you located. I'm in Bowie... Near the MVA in Largo. What market did you go to? I like the one on New Hampshire Ave.

JaEnglish,

Their trying to build up the Charles County area. It's getting better because I can remember when there was hardly any good stores down there. I'm down there from time to time. I have family in Brandywine.

The only reason why I would relocate to FL would be to fly back and forth to JA for little of nothing. lol

What does the farmer's market sell?

The farmer market sells fresh vegetables, homemade pies and cakes, and fresh meat. It is ran by the Armish group. You could spend an half day there just browsing. Thanks for the receipes.

Jengles....from what I understand now, the total fee for AOS of the K-1 includes the EAD, AP, and AOS. 3 forms with supporting evidence, processed seperately; but sent in together with the one fee. If you decide to only do AOS, you still pay the same fee.

Yeah, that's right Kel. The fee for AOS is $1010 whether u file the EAD and AP with it or not. Some people wait to send off the EAD and AP paperwork till after they get a receipt notice (I-797) from their AOS packet but while ur already paying the fee....u might as well "apply" for all 3 documents at one time.

U can still apply for the SS# regardless if u got the JFK work stamp or not. He just can't work until you've gotten married and he has his EAD.

Since we're on the topic.....LOL.....DAVE STARTED HIS NEW JOB TODAY!!!!!!!:dance: He got his SS# last friday and applied at a bunch of places this week, thinking he'd be lucky to get anything with the JFK work stamp. One of the larger grocery store chains called him in yesterday for an interview and he started today!

Congrats to Dave!! That's great news.

THANKS! He's already got 2 days under his belt so thanks for the well wishes : )

That's terrific news, Tonisha. So happy for you.

Thanks JG.....We we're shocked that it weant that smooth. I know alot of u said it may be hard or nearly impossible for them to get a job with the 90 day work permit, cause a lot of employers like to wait till they have the more permanent EAD. Dave seems to be enjoying the experience and already got 40 hours on next week's schedule.:lol:
