Just got out of the crazy traffic in D.C. what a mess. Why can't people just slow down. So, I decided to join my friend that's getting married while I'm in Jamaica for ther "BRIDAL BOOT CAMP"...mi rass! I must have been out of my damn mind. My friend lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks and toned. I lasted all of 10mins. I told one of the instructors to either kiss me of get out my face (with his fine self). The boot camp is run by an ex-marine couple. They've gotten so many request that they had to hire 6 more trainers...and they're making MAD money. When we got there they had women running in the rain. I can't feel my behind, my legs, my arms...DAMN...even my EYELASHES HURT...I know it's going to get worse by the morning. Gone to take a very hot bath and hit up the greygoose and cranberry juice. INSTRUCTOR had the nerve to ask if I was returning tomorrow...I answered him in PATWAH...u MUSAH MAD.

For all of you who lives in the DC metro area, here is a web site that has a list of Boot Camps in the DC Metro area. http://www.bsandf.net/

Hey Kim..i see u... (L)

Hey, did anyone see this article this morning?

Did you hear of this insulting exhibit that was quickly removed in a NY studio. See article, and pics ..sad.

Subject: FW: The Assassination of Barack Obama: Freedom of expression or racism?

The Assassination of Barack Obama: Freedom of expression or racism?

<http://sandrarose.com/2008/06/05/the-assassination-of-barack-obama-freedom-of-expression-or-racism/>

WOW...I must have missed this yesterday with all my ranting!! Is this guy for real??? Which part of a long black ####### is the media's character assassination of Barack!!! Or pictures of Michelle with the Girls and the title "Nappy Headed-Ho's"...I mean I am all for freedom of expression...but to me

that's more racism than art...but heey maybe I'm missing something.

But, seriously can I tell you... that is my worst fear. Especially a few weeks ago when the media was comparing Barack to RFK! They have so many things in common...I just pray everyday that being assasinated is not one of them! :innocent: I hate to say it but it's almost like EVERYTIME America has a person that can unite her people and bring all Americans together (regardless of race, class, religion) for one common purpose and cause...something happens to them!

Guys I beg you pray for the Obama's...keep them in your prayers to keep Barack, Michelle and the Girls safe...cause there are some really crazy folks out there!

Bless, Gill

Honey, are you also loveyoumore to me? The Michigan comment makes me think so.

I'm way down here in St. Louis, MO. Closer to you, then most of the others. There are a few in the Chicago and Michigan area. I'll hook you up when you are ready to meet some.

Andre said to tell Damion he looks fat. He said it with a smile on his face. Believe me, every time we send pictures back to JA, we hear how fat he is. Don't take it personally.

If you aren't LYM, sorry, and ignore me!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

For those waiting for interviews..........

Last night while waiting for my mom's delayed flight in Baltimore from Mobay I was talking to this lady that was waiting for her fiance to arrive from Jamaica. We had a long conversation about the whole process. Very nice lady (reminded me of JG) nice and inviting smile. Anyway these are just a few things she shared with me. She told me that when you're in the embassy you're being observed (even though you're just sitting their waiting). You're be watched on you interactions with your SO (I think some of us already knew this)..but I'm sharing it anyway. Also told that the COs have already made up their mind when you walk up to their window (HAVE YOUR sh*t in order) and SMILE. The impression you make on them when you walk up to the the window will ease your interview. Don't suck up, but just be yourself. If you're nervous, tell them you're nervous. If you need time to think about an answer, tell them to give you a minute and if they start to give you attitude (let them know that in a polite way). THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BE RUDE, YELL, or RUSH you in anyway. Quite a few of them have gotten into trouble for doing so. Remember, they're working for the United States and customer service is the biggest complaint. She also shared this with me (she works at a gvt agency in D.C.) ;) I was telling her that I have a lot of friends who did the marriage visa and had cases completed a couple of months ago and no interview dates and that we believe Kingston is holding everything up. Well, to my surprise, she said Kingston is not the problem when it comes to the CR/1. She says that the NVC has to set the date that they're behind. I know ya'll don't want to hear this, but she also told me the the NORMAL waiting time for CR/1 interview scheduling is 60 - 120 days (after your case is completed). Of course my mouth was wide open at that time. Another thing, a lot of WORK VISAs and I mean A LOT (especially for farm and produce) coming out of Kingston, students coming up to attend college in August. For some reason I thought there were more K-1s coming out of Kingston than CR/1...I was wrong there as well. She said no, it's the other way around. More CR/1s are being processed. She aslo told me that if you add in the time it takes for the K-1 applicant to adjust status, it's almost as long (if not longer) when comparing it to the CR/1. She told me plenty more, but too much to type. Anyway, I'm having lunch with her and her fiance today. I'll see what else she tells me.

JG next time you're here we're going to HOPS in Virginia.

Thanks for this info LAwny. Its all pretty much the same info thats been known for awhile though. 60-120 has been standard for as long as I've been on VJ it just frustrating because orginally KNG assigned the cases then KNG went to appointment post to alleviate backlog yet its still not helping. And even though NVC schedules appointments...KNG STILL has to give NVC open dates...so it back to KNG not having the dates to give out right now. NVC schedules fo rmany other countries but those dates are released earlier and there is less back log. Also other embassys schedule family based visas on more than just Tuesdays...unlike KNG. The issue with CR1 visas is that they are for more than just spouses. K1 is just finace...but CR1 can encompass mother, duahgter, brother, father, child, spouse, so there would def be more of those. K1's on average do take alot lot longer to get to that 2 year conditional card camoared to CR1 but its the time away from your SO that is making people angry. I dont think many K1's mine the wait for a green card when they're spouse is sleeping right next to them at night. And the joke of a K3.....that moves no faster than a K1 or CR1 so its alot of money for nothing. It was made to equal out the wait between K1 and CR1 but its on average been longer than both of them. Either they get backed up at USCIS stage or at Embassy stage.

I think the issue is just gonna take some time for KNG to get organized over there. Its been said lots that they are understaffed. Lines out the door...people waiting 4 hours for a 15 min interview, then the Embassy starting and stopping walkins..its just a mess. I guess its just the waiting game right now.

Good morning Everyone!

Tre - have a wonderful trip! Don't get too much stress piled on you! :-)

So I asked Louis what his favorite thing about being here and he said "Peace of mind".... He doesnt get too excited about much (or show it at least) but he says he likes it here... has met a few friends and likes them. It finally got warm yesterday and the sun came out. He didn't need his swetshirt.. t-shirt!! WOW! We went to a nice park by the ocean and he really liked it. Then a friend had a bonfire and we helped the kids catch fireflies... I think he was enjoying himself. He likes the chill family stuff. Oh and he did the dishes last night! Wahooo! :-) LOL

Anyway .. thanks again everyone for your kind words and I pray everyone's journey goes as smooth as mine has.

Now I have to worry about follow up vaccines and a wedding! :D
