:ot: Hey guys, I have been back from Jamaica for a copule of days now but was in kinda of a funk. :(

When I visited Mike in Ja last month, he expressed that he was not sure if he was going back to the embassy this month to turn in his police certificate so he can get his visa. He said that a man his age has to pack up from the way of life he has been used to all his life and move to a new country to start his life all over. I was dumbfounded when I heard this because of all the plans we made and what my expections were. I am at a loss right now.. :crying::crying:

What do you guys think about this?

Mrs. P,

If you want to do some excursions, try Mayfield falls (which are not exactly huge falls but rather mineral springs that you get to walk through the river to get to) or YS falls (which are more like regular waterfalls and very beautiful) Mayfield is about an hour away from Negril and YS about an hour and a half.

I second trying out Sweet Spice (it is a local favorite) but for a nice romantic dinner on the beach, you should try Kuyaba's.

My SO is from town but I love going to Negril with him because its very romantic for couples and as Lawny said it is secluded. As a matter of fact I'll be there in 3 days, I can't wait!

Aw, I'm so jealous. My husband just moved back to Negril this weekend. He wanted to be close to family in his last months before moving here. But now he has a longer work commute into Mobay. I love it in Negril though. Its very low key and slow paced, but its very romantic. I heard that many resident Jamaicans call it "the place where lovers go". Must be true, cause Negril is definitely for the low key lover who wants to just get lost in one another.

Oh yeah and I have heard Kuyaba has GREAT food. I want to stay there one day...its a really good price. They have this white parrot there thats a super flirt! A real Jamaican bird dat!!!haha

Maybe just having cold feet about starting over in a new place....hopefully he'll have a change of heart in the next few weeks. All you can do is try to be supportive but still firm in ur expectations of the relationship and see where it leads you.

I wish u the best of luck! Hang in there :thumbs:

Thank you guys for your response. I stressed the same things to him. We are having some relationship problems, so maybe that is his way of dealing with it. His is in his 40's and I reiterated to him that he is not the first 40ish years old person to move somewhere new and start a new life. I also reminded him that he will be getting me as a bonus. lol. Anyway after I talked to him some more he changed his mind and is now planning to go take care of his business. Don't know how soon after he gets the visa he will come but at least he will have the choise as you guys have mentioned to see what life here holds for him and if it doesn't suit him then he as the option of moving back home.

I also think he feels that way because he knows that my life is already established and you know some men want to build a life with you where you can attain things together. I have all attained all the material things and am past the childbearing age (a lie dat) so all we can build together is our lives. I am physically unable to go through a pregnancy because of a heart condition that I have.

I plan to be as supportive as I can and have already been, but I can't force him to go against the way he feels. I want him here with me but as I stated before somewhere, he is going to spend some time in Florida with his dad before he joins me here. I am hoping that transition period will be enough to waken him to the realitiy of the situation that we have a life to build together no matter what.

Thanks again for your frank replies to my query

Good Morning my beautiful SITAHS;

Hope all is well with everyone, if not, it will be shortly.

Good Morning Dear God;

Lord, I want to thank you for blessing me with another year. I thank you for watching over me these 38 years. My life is not perfect, but I know without you it would have been a total mess. Lord, I pray for all of family and friends and my sisters here on VJ. I pray that you bring all those on travel home safely and those that are about to leave delivery them safely. Lord, a lot of people are still waiting on interviews and approvals, please push those forward. Lord, please watch over Jah'love as she's also carrying precious cargo and trying to get things situated in her life. Lord, please bless us each and everyday; and Lord, please touch CLAIRE...she's a beautiful and strong sitah and she'll know what to do with her sitatuation, she's just asking for a little guidance. I pray that all will fall into place. I also pray for Mike, a lot of people are afraid of change, they're afraid of uncertainty, but all he has to do is know to look to you for strength dear God and you will pull him through. All these things I ask of you Dear God. AMEN...AMEN...AMEN.

I hate, hate, HATE to hear them announce it is the beginning of hurricane season.

I'm also pissed they are already predicting how high gas prices will go if one hits the southern states.

Like there isn't enough stuff to worry about daily anyhow!

Thanks for the prayer Lawny, always appreciated!

Claire, I hope everything works out for you, as everyone has said the main step is getting him here and then letting him decide if living in the US is something he can manage but he should also keep in mind that there will be an adjustment process. Hang in there (F)

Soooo... :ot: just venting really quick.. I was hoping to have an approval by the time I went down to see my fiancee this week but why oh why has VSC decided to put the brakes on those speedy K1 approvals of just a few months ago.. Figures that by the time I applied they would slow down :angry: I know our wait is not as long as those from CSC or those with other types of visas but still!! I'm pushing up against my own deadline, everytime I see that the Kingston interviews are being pushed to the next month, I think now they are scheduling July or August?? I think Dion is not going to make it in time to be with me during childbirth :crying:
