I just dont know what to do guys. My marriage is really suffering from this. ya know? we just didnt think we would be 7 months into this without ANY light in sight..7 months isnt that long..but we have no hope in it being over anytime soon.

I mean, I dont know about yall..but this long distance stuff is hard... I think marriage is hard enough (first marriage..so not sure..haha) without all this added stuff...right???

Maybe that is more it..that we are having problems and theyjust cant be dealt with properly living like this.

anyway.. I didnt mean to spill out all that on you guys but its so hard to be transparent with people about all this because they dont understand like my yardie family.

Sorry to hear about this, will also send some prayers your way. I hear ya on the long distance thing.. marriage is difficult enough without the issues that come with being far apart. But like others have mentioned at least you have your trip to look forward to spend quality time with your husband.. Keep your head up

the USCIS timelines were updated again and Vermont is STILL on July 30,2007 for I-130

They havent moved in three months and before that it was to just go BACKWARD.

Immigration is ruining my life.

I am almost at 7 months at Vermont with no news.

Aw, Shrewdie. Don't look at those dates, to mean anything. I've been noticing alot more Sept/Oct VSC filers getting approval lately. It seems that they are in that pile of applications now. You'll be hearing something soon, Iknow it. Just realx and get prepared for your trip. I'm so jealous. Wish I was going.

We'll see. Not coming down til I have an interview. cause I plan on attending that, AND flying back with Evan. I was gonna have him fly by himself, but i really want to fly with him and be with him when he says goodbye ot his family and Jamaica you know. I won't be able to see them when I come for the interview cause i plan to fly straight into Kingston and out of Kingston. I miss his little brothers. They're growing up so fast now, and have straight yard man accents..its crazy!

Shrewdie, I know you've heard it so many times before and I know it seems like you just can't continue to do it anymore, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hang in there. I know what it's like to wait...my husband and I have been apart for a long time, and won't even file until next year, and I know how difficult the waiting and agonizing can be from firsthand experience...but know this...as long as you two are wholly committed to one another, and commited to sticking through the GOOD AND BAD, then you will get through this...even when your tunnel seems pitch black...let him be your eyes, and you can be the same for him...you all have to SEE yourselves that one day this too shall pass...You can PM me if you ever want/need to vent, talk, whatever...I'm here...Remember why you married him, and what being together means to you two...and go down there and enjoy every minute with your man when your time comes...I know you need it! IF THE Customer called or faxed in a request to close the account it releases her from the responsibility of the "contract" with the bank..if they the bank close the account for non use or overdraft or something like that....u are still responsible for the fees on the account until U make the request to close it...

I thought it effected your account, the more of them you had, even without balances. Something about the amount of money you "could" go out and charge if you went crazy one day or something.

yes..that affects it also....the more u have does also affect ur credit score..that means u have too much "owed" money so ur a possible high risk..and will be offered those large interest cards....

Well, it will affect it but not by much. But for the rep to threaten me with that. I was like...I'M ALREADY AWARE OF THAT...JUST CLOSE MY DAMN ACCOUNT AND DON'T CONTACT ME AGAIN. I think the fee was $35 or $45...non-activity fee...I nearly lost my damn mind.

Well, my balance was ZERO...I owed them nothing and they were charging me a fee because I was not using the card...dem BAXIDE can go to HELL.

The secret to all of this #######, as sad as it is - Is get to the Legal Dept. I work in the legal dept of a major corporation and am on the receiving end of most of these complaints when our customer can't get resolution - and I can honestly say that it doesn't leave my hands until it's done. I had a big problem with Spirit Airlines a few years ago, and their customer service SUCKS - I asked to speak with the legal dept, and got told that they only handle things in litigation - So I filed a small claims, and had it resolved with in a week of serving it. It's sad to say - but these big companies do not want to pay the cost of hiring someone to appear in court, and will settle the matter quickly - It's cheaper to pay someone the $200 or close their account. Most small claims courts cost around $30 or so to file, and are simple to do.

I am actually going to court on Friday against the city where I used to live - for TEN BLEEPIN years they have tried to collect taxes that I don't owe - they have sued me, sent me to collections, dinged my DMV registration, etc.... each time it comes up they swear they fixed their records - The second to last time it happened, I told them this was their last warning, next time I would just sue - When I went to renew my car registration, it came up as unpaid taxes again! So, I walked into the tax collector's office (an hour away from me) to get the clearance stamp and handed them the lawsuit I filed - SO SO frustrating!

Shrewdie, I am so sorry to hear your troubles - I think that being close and being able to visit will help = it's so hard to get through things when you are so far away. Has anyone ever filled out the Birth certificate application online through the RGD website? Also...my JA birth certificate is the "old" version. Can I use that when filing the I-130 or do I need to get the new long version?

You wil lneed the new version. If you order it on line I think they give you 8 copies...I don't know why. I sent my old birth certificate to my fiance and he was able to get a new one for me in 3 weeks.

Yes, Mindy and I both did. You get a minimum of 6 birth certificates for something like $80. They mailed them to us in about 3 weeks. Only issues we had was that it wouldn't take our zip code. We got an e-mail to call them, called them, and they were to us within a few days after. Mindy didn't have any problems.

I want to say this, too, Shrewdie......Any problems.....you both need to figure out how to deal with them NO MATTER WHAT. Him being here with you is not the end all solution. You seem really smart, sweet, and resourceful. You can do this. You can hang in there. You can hope. And, you can make it work. I think he's a very lucky guy to have you!

I know this may not help Shrewdie...but I look back at the time agonizing, frustrating, painful time when Ken and I were apart (after I filed for him) now and I say ..."Even if I didn't see it...G-d did!" Nothing happens before HIS time my love, and although we don't lnow the reason now...in the end TRUST ME... your hubby will arrive RIGHT ON TIME!!!

Now that Ken is here I really think if he would have gotten here any sooner...things may not have worked out as well as they have for us. It gave us a chance to REALLY set forth a plan of action upon his arrival. Have him interact with my boys via the telephone and prepare my family for his arrival. Gave him time to save and prepare his family for his departure. But most importantly it reaffirmed our love for each other! Cause Sis... after you wait for what feels like forever for your love to arrive...they ain't no way in HELL...you will ever let him go again!

If nothing else this process makes or breaks a couple spirit...Baby Girl...don't let it break yours. You are made of stronger stuff than the USCIS has been giving you!

YOU WILL MAKE IT SIS...Just don't lose the two greatest gifts our father has given to us...FAITH AND HOPE!!!
