Good morning Yardies!!

Lawny it's Monday and I sure could use one of your prayers today.

Dear Heavenly Father;

Thank you for another blessed week. Lord we turn to you for comfort this week as many of us are dealing with our own struggles in life. Lord, I pray that you heal those that are ill or recovery...shower them with your strength. Lord, please watch over Tonisha (FUTURE HUSBAND) as he'll be here tomorrow. Please get him to the airport on time and deliver him safely to her arms at JFK...(I can just see her now hoping to give her man a big hug). Lord, please watch over those that are pregnant and those that are TRYING to get pregnant :innocent:. Lord, please push forward the approvals for those that are waiting (SHREW) is calling out to you as well as Sunny and Mommy 2 b. Lord for those who has mishaps last week in their lives, THANKS for protecting them and finally, thanks for bring Marla to her loving husband Jason. He has been patiently waiting for his beautiful wife and we can all feel the love he has for her. All these things I pray to you Dear God...in your son's precious and might name. AMEN...AMEN...AMEN.

Thanks Lawny, real nice :star:

Hi ladies, hope you had a great weekend.

:ot: I am going down to Negril June 4-8 and my SO is booking our hotel. We were thinking of staying at Rondel Village cause I always thought it looked nice and its at a good location but I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed there??

He wanted to book a gardenside room but not only was the receptionist rude (according to him) but she said the garden side is under construction so only beachfront rooms are available. Has anyone heard of this?

Also can anyone recommend somewhere else in the middle of the beach with similar amenities and also local-friendly?

Thanks!

I would be careful booking that one. Sometimes "under construction" means a big mess and way too much noise beginning early in the morning.

Exactly my experience at Jamaica Grande years ago. Plus the pool was being re-done. They could have told the travel agent, when she was booking the reservations. My co-workers were all looking at me like it was my fault. We left and went to Sunset in MoBay...I didn't know the pool was so important.

LOL, I will look out for your co-worker, Lawny - I love that place - I usually stay at the NBCC side, but the auction was too good to pass up!

Here I'll give you his nickname T-REX (need not say more)

I was talking to my friend over the weekend. We are planning a combined trip to JA next year....our family with her family. Her husband who is currently laid off (and apparently smoking something) is all over the map. Current topics include:

-Losing weight

-Learning Patois

-Looking for property in case the US collapses and they must escape quickly

-how to bring his firearm with him

It makes for good times laughing at his craziness. I think it's going to be a LONG trip!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Hey Mommy --

Me and AW stayed at Rondel in January. It was OK, the rooms are big and clean, but the staff did leave a little to be desired. The location is great -- right in the heart of 7 mile. You may also want to check out Country Country -- just stayed there in April for my birthday celebration and had a blast. The staff is very accomodating and welcoming. Good luck and have fun!

Funny story about Rondell Village-- we were driving up to Negril after AW picked me up from the airport and he asked me to call the hotel since we were so late to make sure the were holding the room and also to ask about their location. So I called and we both spoke to the receptionist who gave AW directions on where the hotel was located in Negril. AW thanked the woman and we were on a merry way to Negril. When we get to the hotel we go to the front desk and a guy comes from the back to check us in -- he had the highest pitched and femine voice I've ever heard on a man. So the woman we thought we were talking to on the phone was actually a guy. The look on AW's face was priceless  -- he looked at me and walked out the front door shaking his head. You know how our Jamaican men can be about men acting feminine. Needless to say I had to check us in and deal with the front desk receptionist for our entire trip -- AW REFUSED to step foot in the recption area all weekend.

Oh, and I failed to mention that on said property, he wants to put a trailer. I said, I think that may be the start of the first Jamaican trailer park.

Funny and sad at the same time. Something he may have to get over if he wants to live peacefully in the US.

Sadly, I am really not joking, Tre. He said all of this on Saturday night.

Yah, I said the same thing. Then, I stressed the importance of cinder block and steel rods in the housing department.

I have to admit, the thought of a Jamaican trailer park did have me rolling!

He knows and we've had discussions about it. He's pretty low key by nature, so I know we won't have any "un-peaceful" issues. But I tell him all the time -- he's in for a real awakening when he gets to the states.

Girl,

Let me top that. Magaritaville in Mobay on Thursday night. My fiance and I went to celebrate his friend's birthday. We're at the bar waiting for our drinks, so this guy walks up to my fiance and says to him "how he's so nice and tall and good looking" mi nearli dead. I heard my fiance say, Wah the bbclatt and all I could do was KISS my fiance in order for him to not say anything....but it was too late, his friends were already cussing the guy and well, here comes security. I notice this guy as soon as I went upstairs, he was checking out all the males as they came up the steps. Seem that the guy and his friends were messing with people (MEN) and to avoid a confrontation they were told to go upstairs and chill out and well, I told my fiance and his friends, better we leave and go somewhere else. I'm glad we did, the guy and his friends approached another man that night and well it was not a good thing.

Andre's a manager, so he has to be really cautious about everything he says and does. It's been a real challenge to overcome some of his "issues" with this.
