go right ahead JG..feel free...

But u know what..those seats I have gotten to love..well the bulkhead seats since I had my daughter....love them....they r just preparing for what the economy is throwing at them..

I realize that. It just seems like what someone else said a few days ago, WTH are the fares for then?

It was a little eye opening. They showed how they take the total fuel consumption for the flight and divide it by the 80% of capacity they figure most flights on. That's part of how they price the flights. Interesting stuff.

it's crazy that this is allowed..they can make more money but we suffer ..come on..dem soon stop gi yuh food pon di flight dem

I once lucked out on standby and got "stuck" in the very first seat in 1st class. Damn.....wish I had never had that experience. Free drinks, nice food, a hot face towel, fluffy pillows, nice blanket.......makes me sad every time I had to sit in coach after that!

BTW.....all the stuff about extra charges and such.....they weren't talking about penalyzing 1st class. Bastards!

yeaaah !! I loved traveling with my daughter when she was a baby her 1st trip was 2 mths and everybody on the plane wanted to help me :)

Did u/are u going to pierce her ears ?

Were going to pierce her ears at 2 months. This is cause my hubby wants too. He thinks it's good after her 2 month shots. I wanted to wait until she was 5 and make a day out of it. Just like my parents did for me.

Speaking of airlines. I just read today that the future of airlines is to have us pay extra for leg room (I suppose that means emergency exits?) and what they are calling premium seats like the window and the aisle. When does this end?

That's it...for INTERNATIONAL travel I'm buying me a ROW BOAT...dats all mi can afford...for DOMESTIC travel mi ago buy one DONKEY...who want to CHIP in...I'm going to put one on layaway tomorrow.

I remember back in the day I could go to Jamaica for $700 bucks for 10 days with my college. That also paid for excursions to Negril Ocho and Rose Hall, Sandals and more. Also had a couple free buffet meals it was awesome. How times have changed in 10 to 5 years. :luv:

No - I agree it happens all time. I was just pointing out the irony of what is reported or focused on and what isn't.

Seems kind of a double standard, doesn't it?

Hi Everyone. Earlier Clairern and Malita answered a question I had about the Form DS230. They mentioned that the documents (police certificate etc.) would be sent to the NVC for the CR1 visa. Will the husband have to take these same documents again to the Embassy in Kingston when he gets an interview date? If not, what should he have prepared to take to the interview? Thanks again in advance!

Yes. And, that has been a big issue lately.....people sending them to the NVC and thinking, oh, they have them, so why bother. He needs to take them with him as well.

Ok. Is he taking with him orginals again or the copies he made for himself when he sent them to NVC? For example, should he get 2 police certificates and keep one for himself, OR photocopies are sufficient? Is taking them to the interview a requirement or just a precautionary measure?

I'm guessing he hasn't applied for the police certificate yet. He will get 2 of them.

He needs originals.

It has been a requirement lately. I would not risk not taking them.

A friend of the family had an interview last month CR/1 and although she had everything they needed...they asked her for a copy of the I-130 and more wedding pictures (had them at the interview). They also asked her what took so long for her husband to file for her (they've been married 6 years). Does this make sense? They rescheduled her interview for June 24th. The I-130 was in the file...she received an e-mail from the embassy apologizing about the I-130 copy, but they can't get her in any sooner. She's fustrated.

Oh, honey.....nothing makes sense in the process.

Hey everyone I have a question. Dwayne picked up his police certificate yesterday. I told him he would need 2 copies. He said they told him he only gets one and asked me if he can just make a copy of it. Should I tell him to go apply and pay the 3000.00 again for another copy??

Thanks for your support

Wakey

Wakey, he should have been given an original and a copy with his picture and the police seal on each. I don't think you need to let him go bak and get another, but just make sure it is the original he submits. That is the only issue they have--they want the original--not two copies of it.

I think Airlines definitely have to ask all the pertinent questions. If they let someone through (on the plane) only to be turned back at POE, their airline will have to carry that person back home. Its in the airline's best interest that everyone is doing their part to follow the law. I THINK!!

That's why they want you to buy the round trip ticket and why the one way is more expensive so that if they turn you back, they can recoup the cost of your seat.

My night just went to surreal.....a speeding car just hit the for sale sign of one neighbor's house and crashed into the tree on my neighbor (and cousins) front lawn. Then, they ran. Of course, I missed it all cause I was in the tub. I did manage to see all the police, CSI, and the two truck that parked on my lawn to tow it away.

Has anyone heard from Jason? Did Marla make it to Atlanta ok last night?

Busy catching up I assume..:blush:

Marla did make it to the airport ok, other than the flight being delayed by 2hrs. She said she had no problem with customs or immigration and made it through very easy. We made it home about 2:30am and we were very tired. My son (8yr) met her and Amoy (3yr old step-daughter) for the first time and he really liked them and they liked him.

Next morning I made her breakfast in bed, then we went shopping. Went to the Jamaica food store, then to Wal-Mart. Marla loved Wal-Mart, she said it was big and very good selection, I had to tell her we could'nt buy the whole store.

Everything is going great, Marla said she loves it here so far. But I can see there will be alot of adjusting to do. She is cold here (which it was only 68 here yesterday). Also, she says it is pretty here and very spacious, she could'nt believe all the roads we have and the traffic. Anyways, she met my 2 brothers yesterday and tonight we are going to my mom's house then to Red Lobster and tomorrow we are going to church.

We both are so so happy that this day has arrived and we feel like our lives are complete and we can go forward. I can truly say that we are in love!

Also, the best thing is we don't have to talk on the phone to each other.

Of course, I missed it all cause I was in the tub. I did manage to see all the police, CSI, and the two truck that parked on my lawn to tow it away.

Crazy!

Our crazy story....Damien's car broke down last Friday. It wouldn't start after he ran into a store. He was on his way to pick up my daughter from the train station. I was working late that night so I called AAA thinking the battery needed a jump. We finally had the car towed. Went out to dinner and Target...didn't get home until midnight. We had so many plans that weekend now we have to share a car  Walked in the house...no electricity. We've had power shortages for no reasons before so I didn't pay attention until I noticed two of neighbors had lights on. The electricity was closed so nothing we could do until 7 the next morning.

Meanwhile is Damien is pacing the floor then putting up boobie traps just in case someone decides to break in  He said he had a bad feeling something bad is going to happen. I'm like - boy, are you crazy...go to bed. Besides, what else could go wrong....

5:35 Saturday morning...someone is BANGING on our door. I'm thinking it better be Pepco (electric company). I'm half sleep when I opened the door...it's

the POLICE asking if I had an Impala. I said no but my neighbor's boyfriend drives one....I drive a Malibu. I was about to close the door when he said I traced the tags to this house and your car has been involved in an ACCIDENT. I said that's impossible because I parked my car right infront of our apartment...I saw my car is sitting on the grass. Someone hit it dead on...knocked it outta the parking spot into another car.

I ran upstairs to wake up Damien. He thought I was playing a trick on him...
